33 Immortalsis a large-scaleaction roguelike that lets you team upwith up to 32 other players to take on powerful monsters and divine beings across the Beyond. The core gameplay loop is simple to understand: roam the map, collect resources, unlock upgrades, and survive until the Ascension Battles appear. If you’re strong enough to make it through the Ascension Battle, you’ll even get the chance to face off against Lucifer himself.

But the early game can be rough. You’re working with minimal upgrades, little experience, and a steep learning curve. To help ease that challenge, here are 7 beginner tips that’ll make your first few hours in33 Immortalsmuch smoother.

7Focus on Feat Level

Unlock new upgrades and features

The Feat Level is your long-term progression system in33 Immortals, similar to meta progression in other roguelikes. As you play, you’ll unlock different Feat Objectives through Beatrice in the Dark Woods. Completing these during your runs earns Feat Points, whichincrease your Feat Level. As your Feat Level rises, you gain access to new features such as additional perk slots, Relic wishlists, and even weapon upgrades. Some objectives are tied to using specific weapons or playing in co-op, so make sure to switch up your playstyle and check your progress regularly.

6Choose One Main Weapon

Mastering one is better than learning all

There arefour different weaponsin33 Immortals, each with its own mechanics, combos, and passive abilities. While it can be tempting to switch frequently, it’s usually better to focus on one weapon to carry you through the early game. You’ll still want to change up the weapons to complete specific Feat Objectives, but for the most part, you’ll want to stick to a single weapon. Once you unlock the ability to upgrade weapons, focus on upgrading a single weapon to boost its effects. Once you’ve gotten comfortable and unlocked major upgrades for your chosen weapon, then it’s a good idea to explore other options to broaden your versatility.

5Complete Torture Chambers

More Relics Gives You a Better Chance

Torture Chambers are arena-based encounters that spawn on the map throughout your run. Completing them rewards you with Relics, which boost your stats and add special effects to your attacks or abilities. Themore Relics you gather, the stronger your character becomes for the rest of that run. Torture Chambers also contribute to unlocking the Ascension Battles, which are required if you want a chance at facing Lucifer. Each Torture Chamber on the map can hold up to 6 players at a time. So make sure you’re beelining straight for a Chamber once it spawns and secure a slot to unlock the chest inside any chance you get.

4Upgrade a Few Perks

You Don’t Have Infinite Resources

Perks are one of the main ways to customize your build in33 Immortals. You can equip newly unlocked Perks from the Dark Woods by talking to Dante. As you increase your Feat Levels, you’ll also unlock additional Perk Slots. Furthermore, you can upgrade your Perks to boost their passive effects using resources like Eternal Shards and Paragons.

However, since resources are limited, especially in the early game, you’ll have to be smart with how you upgrade your Perks. Focus on upgradingthe most useful Perksthat you’re using consistently on your runs. This will ensure you’re getting the most value out of the limited resources you have.

3Teamwork Is Essential

Focus on Co-op Powers and Co-Strikes

You’re rarely alone in33 Immortals, and even if you’re not playing with friends, you’re playing with other players who are all working toward the same goal.Teaming up and cooperatingis the only way to succeed. Hitting the same target as another player will trigger Co-Strikes, which increase your chance of landing a critical hit. It will also slowly fill up your Co-op Power bar. Each weapon has a unique Co-op Power, so make sure you’re using it efficiently during boss fights or large enemy waves. Reviving fallen teammates is just as important and helps everyone push further.

2Understand the Shrines

Dust, Bone, and Soul

Shrines are basically shops that spawn across the map while exploring the Beyond. They allow you to spend your collected resources to gain important buffs or consumables. There are three main types of Shrines. Dust Shrines let you exchange a full Dust Vial to upgrade one of your three Characteristics: Attack, Health, or Empathy.

Bone Shrines let you spend Bones to heal, buy Teleport Stones, or purchase Torture Chamber Chest Keys. Soul Shrines allow you to spend Stardust or Eternal Shards to revive party members, remove Shattering Soul damage, or boost everyone’s armor. Visit these shrines regularly when you have resources to spare.

1Always Check the Map

A Treasure Trove of Information

The map in33 Immortalsis large and full of items for you to hunt down. Whether you’re in Inferno or Purgatorio, you’ll have to roam around to uncover chests, Shrines, or Torture Chambers. Standing still or focusing only on killing mobs won’t make your character stronger for the coming battle. By checking the map every now and then, you’ll be able to see where other players are gathering. You’ll also see points of interest and other important events on the map, which will let you plan out your route easily.

While33 Immortalsmight start as a challenge for most players, the mechanics begin to click after just a few runs. With each trip to the Inferno, your understanding of enemy patterns, resource flow, and map movement will naturally improve. The tips above should serve as a solid foundation to help you settle in and make the most of your journey through the Beyond.
