There are a lot ofMonster Hunter Wildsmods that have come out since the game launched in late February 2025, but mostMH Wildsmods improve the game’s quality of life, UI, add useful features (like auto-refilling supplies), or otherwise modify gameplay to make it easier or more convenient.
Some of the bestMonster Hunter Wildsmods don’t improve the game at all and, instead, turn it into an experiment in how far one can push the game into pure ridiculousness.
Some of the funniestmods forMonster Hunter Wildsturn monsters into other characters, turn your Palicos into fearsome full-sized felines, or make the game’s scariest enemies much less fearsome with googly eyes and other modifications. This list of five of the most hilariousMH Wildsmods recommends addons that “enhance” the game in various funny ways – just try not to get too disturbed when you kill a monster-sized Nata and see his dead-eyed stare as you carve parts from his corpse.
1Kitty Big
Human-Sized Palicos
Palicos are as iconic to theMonster Hunterseries as the enormous monsters the franchise is so well known for, but for the most part,Palicos aren’t much more than a weak support characterfor the Hunter. With the Kitty Big mod,Monster Hunter Wildsplayers will scale up their companion Palico to the size of a normal character.
This mod only displays the enlarged Palico on the client side, so other players won’t be able to interact with your big kitty. There’s nothing funnier than seeing a gigantic Palico fly over to you with a healing bomb, and tower over the smaller, inferior housecats that populate the rest of the world.
2Googly Magala
Gore Magala, Now With Googly Eyes
Gore Magala isarguably the hardest monster to beat inMonster Hunter Wilds, especially when Tempered. Its nightmarish visual design, ability to induce Frenzy, and terrifying claws and horns make it one of the scariest monsters to fight in the game. But what if you put googly eyes on it?
This mod does just that. The Googly Magala addon turns this fearsome foe into a monster that’s hard to take seriously. Try not to giggle too much as you attack its head, which is a weak spot, and smash its googly eyes out of its skull. This mod doesn’t make the boss easier, but it’s hard not to feel confident when facing a monster with such ridiculous eyes.
3Gore Magala Luigi Wega Roar
Surprisingly, It’s Scarier When It Sounds Like Luigi
There are seemingly endless ways to modify the Gore Magala fight. Unlike the Googly Magala mod, though, this mod doesn’t make the boss less fearsome: it makes Gore Magala even scarier. That’s because this mod replaces the Gore Magala’s roar with a scream from old Luigi’s Mansion memes. It’s not the hilarious “waaaaaa” scream Luigi is known for, or even a “mama mia” – it’s originally a scream from aHalf-Life 2Stalker enemy.
With this mod installed, players will hear an ear-piercing screechwhen initiating the Gore Magala fight and whenever the monster roars during a fight. Keep your volume turned down slightly to avoid destroying your hearing sensitivity with this mod installed, and you’ll find it hard to focus while laughing so hard from this insane sound replacement.
5Natarkveld
Nata Identifies With Arkveld, So Turn Him Into One
Players who have reached the end of the main story forMonster Hunter Wildswill find that Nata feels like he and the Arkveld, a ruthless killing machine of a monster, are the same. With this mod, you can make Nata’s dream a reality and turn him into a full-fledged, fully-rigged monster.
The Natarkveld mod essentially replaces the base model of the Arkveld with Nata’s character model, which makes for some disturbingly hilarious screenshots. It doesn’t change the boss fight at all. This mod just replaces the Arkveld’s main body with Nata’s head and model, but keeps the chains and wings attached.
It’s one of the mostbizarre mods ever created for any game, not justMonster Hunter Wilds. But if you’re looking for something ridiculous (but semi-related to the game’s story), look no further than this hilarious Natarkveld mod.
6Arkveld Nata
It Works The Other Way Around, Too
If you want tohelp Nata connect with his inner Arkveld, but don’t want to replace the beautifully detailed Arkveld model with a bizarre, stretched-out version of Nata’s model, try this mod instead. Instead of using Nata’s character model for the monster, the Arkveld Nata mod turns Nata into an anthropomorphic Arkveld, complete with white furry arms, legs, and the face of the Arkveld scaled down to human size.
After you install the Arkveld Nata mod, go to your base camp and look for Nata near your personal tent. You probably won’t recognize him at first, thanks to his new furry growths and, well, completely different face. Like the Natarkveld mod, this doesn’t change how Nata behaves, it just replaces this character’s normal model with an anthropomorphic customized Arkveld-inspired model.
