IfPersona 4gets a remake beforePersona 6releases, then the series would do well to take a page out ofKingdom Hearts' book afterward. WithPersona 6yet to have any concrete details, much less a release date,Persona’s overall future is a bit of a mystery at the moment. APersona 4remake is probably in the cards, especially considering how wellPersona 3 Reloadperformed. APersona 4remake with similar improvements could repeat that level of success. At the same time, it would open the door for the series to make another significant move.
Theimprovements made toPersona 3 Reloadmade it a worthwhile game to seek out, even for those who played the original years ago. From the many new mechanics like Theurgies, to something as simple as letting players directly control their party members,Persona 3 Reloadwas a big step up from its original iteration gameplay-wise. Not to mention, it managed to revive interest inPersona 3and its characters, letting a lot of newer players experience a great story in the process. After how wellPersona 3 Reloadturned out, a similar kind of remake forPersona 4should not be ruled out.
A Persona Remake Bundle Could be a Good Move After a Persona 4 Remake
If Atlus makes aremake ofPersona 4, much of the same design philosophy fromPersona 3 Reloadcould be reused. WhilePersona 4’s gameplay is not quite as dated asPersona 3’s was, later-series updates like Baton Pass would be excellent additions to the formula. WhilePersona 4had a previous rerelease inPersona 4 Golden, that game is over a decade old at this point. A remake would ensure that there are current-gen versions ofPersona 3,Persona 4, andPersona 5on the market. In addition to that convenience, it would give Atlus the chance to make another good move.
A Persona Trilogy Could Be a Great Deal For Players
Atlus could make something like theKingdom Hearts All-In-One Packagegame collection, which features all of the games in the series to date. Releasing aPersona 4remake would be the perfect setup for such a plan. After all,Persona 3was the game that really established the currentPersonaformula, so having it and its successors all in one place seems like a natural choice. The fact that all three games would be as up-to-date as possible would make the package deal even better. IfPersona 4gets remastered, then there’s no reason not to follow that up with a trilogy bundle.
A Persona Bundle Would Prepare Players For Persona 6
Of course, the biggest reason to release aPersonabundle beforePersona 6’s eventual releasewould be as a refresher for players. Revisiting the modernPersonatrilogy would give players the opportunity to immerse themselves in everything that they would expect from the next game in the series. From balancing Social Links with combat to the Persona mechanic itself, it would act as an excellent pick-me-up for players. Granted,Persona 6will likely add something new to the series formula, similar to past games. Even so, a trilogy bundle would be the best way to get players up to speed ahead ofPersona 6.
IfPersona 4gets remastered, then there’s no reason not to follow that up with a trilogy bundle.
APersona 4remake could set Atlus up for a big event. Not only would anyimprovements made toPersona 4boost the game’s already high quality, but the opportunity to package all 3Personaremakes could potentially be an amazing deal. ThePersonagames have a strong reputation as is, and that’s unlikely to change. Anything that the developers can do to get players more excited forPersona 6could only help. As a result, a trilogy bundle ofPersonaremakes feels like an excellent opportunity.
