Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas introduced a new kind of progression chart calledAnimus Projects, which will yield rewards such as legendary weapons, cosmetic gear, and more if the players meet certain conditions. One of the ways to progress down this pseudo-season pass is to complete Anomaly Missions, aka: toPurge Corrupt Entities.
These special Weekly Missions can be a little bit tricky, and their objectives are often related to assassination missions (be it multiple objectives, or a single high-value target). Assassin’s Creed Shadows Anomalies Explained
Anomalies are events detected by the Animus system that do not correspond with the timeline and are classified asCorrupt Entities. This will trigger certain missions that the players need to ‘purge’ to earn Data Fragments, which are necessary to progress further with the Season Pass system.
The first part of the season pass (also calledProjects), calledThe Legacyrequires players to grind a lot of these quests that are marked as apurple Animus Iconon the map. Players can also access tracking for these quests from theirObjective tabs. If they go to the upper side of the objective board, they will spot several active Anomalies they need to purge.
Some of these missions award between 400 and 700Data Fragmentsand 1000+ XP, and they are generally renewed in a24-hour cycle. Once players have enough Data fragments, they will unlock a reward tier, and by accessing their Animus Project Tab, they will be able to claim them. Rewards range fromspecial items like Goldto Legendary weapons for Yasuke or Naoe.
How To Complete Purge Missions In AC Shadows
Purge Missions are some of the easiest Animus Project objectives players can find inAssassin’s Creed Shadows, and they require completing a full sweep through a corrupted enemy camp that has been hit by the anomaly.
Players will notice some strange visual effects when they enter the area marked for the mission, but don’t worry, it is not a visual bug. This effect indicates that players are in the correct area and their target (that will be highlighted with a purple dot) is in the vicinity.
In the case of high-value Target assassinations that are read like: ‘Fractured Lineagein XXX area,’ the further players approach the target, the stronger the corrupted visual effect they will notice around them.
Another type of quest will enclose players in anArenawhere they will have to defeat several opponents before managing to purge the Anomaly. These will require direct combat, so be prepared witha strong build for Naoeor Yasuke before attempting to purge the entities in those types of missions.
Certain Purge Missions will need to be unlocked under certain requisites. For example, completingThe TournamentMission orthe Golden Teppo Main Quest.So if players are having trouble unlocking these objectives, they should check if there are certain Sub Quests Or Main Quests detailed as a requisite to unlock the Purge Missions.
