Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas tons of side activities that pop up at random as players explore Sengoku Era Japan, and most of the time, including random people throwing riddles at Naoe and Yasuke as they go. Such is the case of the Seashell Riddle, a minor event that appears in the Katano region and has players trying to guess which is the correct answer to the Noble Woman question.
If they are not playing in Canon Mode, players won’t be able to discern which are the correct answers to most of these riddles that appear from time to time and grant extra rewards like replenishing Scout uses or revealing World Rumors for the players. So, here’s the solution to the Seashell Riddle from the Old Woman.
AC Shadows Seashell Riddle Solution
The Old Lady with the Seashell Riddle appears outside the Katano Kakurega (hideout) and will call for the players' attention once she is in the area. Players might notice the NPC can appear totally randomized, but it is most of the timean old lady in a Kimono, presenting a strangely aggressive attitude while proudly showcasing her Seashell to Naoe, then asking: ‘If you are so clever, then answer this. Which province does the seashell come from?’
Players will be presented with three possible options, but before they try to guess, the correct answer is Wakasa. The available answers are the following, with the third one being the correct solution to the riddle:
Players will then receive two options as a reward: One is to fill a Scout Spot for the season (which is not much, considering players can justrefill the spots by paying 200 Mon), and the other is to reveal a World Rumor in the nearby area. Players will most likely receive the Butterfly Collector Rumor since they will be in the Katano Area, but in case they find the Old Lady in another of the regions and receive the same riddle, they might receive a different rumor location as a reward.
It is also possible that these NPCs that pop up from time to time are totally randomized, and the age of the lady, as well as her clothes, might vary a lot. Still, if the riddle she presents is the same, then the answer will be Wakasa.
