Q:AI Limithas a gorgeous aesthetic, blending post-apocalypse features with more modern Anime aesthetics. What was the creative decision to go forward with this style?

A:On the one hand, it is because our developers really like the style ofBLAME!. On the other hand, it is also becausecharacters with cel-shadingare more popular among young people. The team believes that this style is a very sensible choice when the development budget is limited.

What to Expect From AI Limit’s Story

Q:AI Limit seemsnot toshy away from social and political commentary, which is appreciated. What kind of narrative can players expect when they jump into this world?

A:We’ve noticed thattraditional games often center their storylines around family bonds, such as searching for children, parents, or lovers. However, since our protagonist is a non-human being, it inherently lacks such motivations. That’s why, instead of setting a traditional, clearly defined main storyline, we’ve used “making contact with humans and searching for Branches” as a thread.

We hope that, through their encounters with the characters, players will develop the motivation to help them, or players can simply ignore everyone and focus onchallenging powerful enemies. In addition, we’ve designed numerous interconnected plots for the characters. Players can experience that the side quests of each character are strongly connected rather than being independent stories.

Q:Soulslikes are very beloved by their fans, andAI Limitseems to have all the right pieces to keep players interested. What led to the decision to craft this world as a Soulslike rather than a standard action affair?

A:Because our developers prefer thecombat experience of Soulslike games, which focuses on interacting with enemies and analyzing their attack moves.

Q:Soulslike games can also be slightly polarizing due to their oftentimes extreme difficulty. DoesAI Limitfeature any sort of difficulty adjustment for players, or is this a locked experience?

A:There is onlyone fixed difficulty level.

Q:One feature that some fans love about Soulslike games is the ability to invade another player’s game. Does a similar feature appear here, or is this a strictly single-player affair?

A:As a startup game development team, we haven’t taken on the challenge of developing online multiplayer functionality, so this is apure single-player game.

Q:When it came to inspirations for developing the world and feel ofAI Limit, what games and media helped you bring these lands to life?

A:A person is the sum of their social relations. A game is also the sum of its creators' personal gaming experiences. Our creative team has been particularly influenced by works such as Tsutomu Nihei’sBlame!,Mad Max,theBorderlandsseries, theBioShockseries, theFalloutseries, andMetro Exodus.

Q: Seeing as this is the first game being developed by Sense Games, how are you feeling now that the release date is approaching? Nervous? Excited?

A:Both are the case. Meanwhile, the time we have spent on the development has already far exceeded our expectations. As we are approaching the end, we feel a greater sense of relief. Everyone can’t wait to start working on the next project.

Q: What would you and the team say you’re most proud of when it comes to the development ofAI Limit?

A:The thing we’re most proud of is that we have completed this game without making too many compromises on the volume of the content.
