The secret source dragon idols are large ancient serpents that can fly around and some play a massive part in the Natlan puzzles inGenshin Impact. These secret sources can be found as a whole serpent ready to be activated, while others need to be assembled by the players.
Some of the ancient serpents will even reward Travelers with an achievement, and some will simply spawn a precious chest, which is also important in case you wish tocollect all the Sunset-Blue Obsidian Fragments.
Secret Source Dragon Idol Puzzle #1
Defeat the secret source dragon idol by smashing the three muzzles using a Tatankasaur transformation. Next, climb on its body to arrive at an isolated island. Complete the challenges there and defeat the dragon boss using the muzzles around the arena to getthe Shadows of the Colossi achievementand a luxurious chest.
Secret Source Dragon Idol Puzzle #2
Attack the enemies near the lava pond and shoot the barrels to cause an explosion, which results in the dormant secret source dragon idol awakening. Following the serpent reveals a hidden entrance to a cave. Alternate between using the dragon’s body and the available platforms to evade the lava until, eventually, it transforms into rock.
Destroy it using the Tatankasaur transformation, and acquire the golden seal to free the secret source servant and get a luxurious chest. Also, travelers willobtain the A Lonely Sentinel achievement.
Secret Source Dragon Idol Puzzle #3
Go to the island located north of the Flame-Melding Ritual Grounds and solve the puzzle there to get a precious chest and assemble the secret source dragon idol. It takes you to another island where players are rewarded with an exquisite chest.
Piece Location #1
South of the waypoint is a Matador Monetoo. Follow it using a Tatankasaur transformation until it sits inside one of the cubes. Hit it to slide the piece into place.
Piece Location #2
Northeast of the waypoint is a bunch of rocks blocking an elevator. Destroy them using the same transformation, and then smash into the nearby pillar to activate the elevator. Go up and smash the rocks to find another piece.
Piece Location #3
North of the waypoint is another Matador Monetoo. Chase it around until it sits inside an arch next to a device. Infuse it with Phlogiston to awaken the two secret source servants and slam into the arch to drop a piece from above. The servants will take the piece to the dragon idol location to complete it.
Secret Source Dragon Idol Puzzle #4
Go to the southeastern waypoint in the Sea of Shifting Sentience area and immediately transform into a Tatankasaur. Go around the yellow barrier to see a gate opening and closing. Wait for the right moment and dash inside,smashing the rocks. Infuse the device with Phlogiston and watch as the secret source servant removes the barrier and unlocks an exquisite chest.
Follow the servants to a higher hill where there are multiple pieces embedded in the ground and activate the mechanism to summon a secret source dragon idol. Ride on its body to be taken to another island.
Secret Source Dragon Idol Puzzle #5
Just north of the Sea of Shifting Sentience is a medium-sized lava pond with a Koholasaurus transformation nearby. Use it and approach the locked precious chest to reveal a long tower of dragon idol pieces. Smash it using the saurian to make a bridge and unlock the chest.
Secret Source Dragon Idol Puzzle #6
From the previous puzzle, cross the bridge to find a secret source servant running on a wheel, and on it is a Flowlight Target that can be destroyed.Use the Koholasaurus to smash it, which spawns a path of Flowlight Targets all over the lava pond for you to destroy. The last one will take you back to where you started, and destroying it unlocks an exquisite chest and elevates players to a higher location. There, you can find some enemies and another exquisite chest.
Secret Source Dragon Idol Puzzle #7
Head to the Pseudostar Pedestal to find an incomplete secret source dragon idol. There are three locked common chests, and each one is connected to a lost piece; retrieve the cubes to open the corresponding chest.
The first step is to use a Tatankasaur transformation to destroy all the rocks. This will automatically reveal one of the pieces.
Approach the lava monster and defeat it to get a piece. If nothing happens, try smashing the cracked cubes in the dragon’s body.
The final spot is full of enemies. Defeat the Rifthounds only to spawn a Tenebrous Mimiflora boss the moment the servants move the last piece. Beat all the enemies to complete the dragon andget a precious chest. This dragon doesn’t go anywhere; it just flies around in circles.
