ThroughAssassin’s Creed Shadows, fans of the franchise are finally being whisked away to the beautiful landscapes of Japan. But, while that all sounds great, the true standout ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowscomes in those smaller details.

As playersexploreAssassin’s Creed Shadows' world, they may spend little time stopping to smell the roses. However, if they do, they will be greeted by some fantastic details both in the game world and from the NPCs. Assassin’s Creed Shadows Has So Much For Players to Look For

Players Should Definitely Stop to Smell the Roses

One of thebest parts aboutAssassin’s Creed Shadowsis all the small details that litter the world. Specifically, the weather effects that have been expanded upon with seasons really go a long way in sucking the player into this version of Japan. For starters, the snow that comes with winter actually builds up massive piles, with the player being able to leave their mark on it as they traverse it, much like they can in real life. After a heavy snowfall, the snow will even melt in real time rather than simply vanishing at a moment’s notice.

Snow is not the only thingUbisoft has spent time recreating, as there is so much to look at throughoutAssassin’s Creed Shadows’world. Sand will actually become wet with the rain, NPC blood will fill bodies of water, strong winds move objects and foliage, ice can cause players to lose their balance, and storms will even have an effect on the lakes, rivers, and oceans. Wherever players look, something seems to be painstakingly recreated from the real world, which makes this open world one of the best the franchise has seen so far.

The Characters Have So Many Fun Details As Well

Besides the weather, the characters withinAssassin’s Creed Shadowsalso feel incredibly realistic. One of the first things players may notice is that the two protagonists feel extremely distinct from one another. Not only is their combat style very different, but the way they navigate the world also feels distinct. Unlike Naoe,Yasuke cannot scale buildingsor engage in all the classic parkour that the franchise is known for because he is a bulky samurai. Additionally, he cannot even do leaps of faith, but instead will simply stumble and fall, making for a pretty funny scenario.

Along with that, the NPCs that litter the world will react differently depending on which character players are playing as. While NPCs do not really seem topay any attention to Naoe, they do react to Yasuke. Players may notice that they will be stared at, NPCs will bow to them, and some will even stand off to the side to allow Yasuke to pass. This small detail really helps show his status as a samurai and the fact that he stands out in 16th-century Japan, which really helps make the game feel far more lifelike.

There are so many other little details that players will likely find on their journey, with some details possibly not being discovered yet. All of which really helps suck players into this world, and at first glance, it makes it feel like the most detailedAssassin’s Creedyet. With updates and post-launch support, it may become even more engrossing. And future titles have the chance to take it even further, which would be fantastic to see.
