Summary

Assassin’s Creed Shadowsis not the first game in the series to offer players two playable assassins. InAssassin’s Creed Shadows, Yasukeplays more like a bull in samurai armor while Naoe is light on her feet as a ninja. This gives Naoe more opportunities to be stealthy on missions. How can players make her a better ninja? Check out these types to make Naoe like the shadow in the title.

Observing enemies in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

7Wear Headphones

Listen To Approaching Enemies

It’s always worth noting that players should wear headphones whenever they are playing a stealth game from this to another recent hit likeSniper Elite: Resistance. It’s a good idea for players to get to a high elevation and observe a hideout or castle to tag enemies before entering.

However, players aren’t going to see every enemy which is why headphones will come in handy to hear their whereabouts. Players may even pick up secret information if they listen to guards.Assassin’s Creed Shadows’soundtrack is also one of the best in the seriesto date, so that’s a plus for headphones too.

Throwing kunai in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

6Take Out Singular Enemies Via Kunai

Get That Headshot

Any sort of rooftop or elevated area isa friend to all ninjasbeyond the ability to scope out areas. The game seemingly plans for players to be on certain rooftops where they can see a lot of enemies at once. In these areas, players may be lucky and find red bags that will refill tools like Kunai.

In these situations, it’s not a bad idea to pick off solitary enemies one by one with headshots. Just make sure an enemy doesn’t have a yellow bar, as that will protect it from instant kill usually.

Performing a double kill in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

5Unlock The Double Kill ASAP

And Other Useful Skills

There are a lot of usefulstealth-based skills for Naoe inAssassin’s Creed Shadowsand they can all be worthwhile like Smoke Bomb, Shinobi Bell, and Ascension Boost. Chief among them is Double Assassinate which quite literally allows players to take down two targets at once. Players are going to come across a lot of guards with double duty at bigger locations.

It’s hard to lure one guard away undetected to then finish the other off. Double Assassinate makes things a lot easier plus it’s just a cool skill for an assassin to have. Another way to double-kill enemies is by obtaining the Tools Master Gear armor from Katano Castle. This armor will automatically throw a Kunai at a nearby target to assassinate them once the first is taken care of.

Hiding by a light in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

4Work In The Dark

Extinguish Fires

There is no way to pass time other than to do activities in the game. This can hurt players who wish to be stealthy inAssassin’s Creed Shadowsand want to go into castles and other areas under the veil of darkness. It’s best to wait until the night before approaching some of the more dauntingmissions inAssassin’s Creed Shadowsafter all.

Players can ensure and stay hidden by extinguishing flames as they go along, thus reducing the line of sight for enemies even further. Crouching is something common in stealth games and it works great in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but players should also remember to go prone to help stay hidden under darkness.

Carrying a body in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

3Carry Bodies

Set Traps

It’s not enough to simply kill an enemy as it might be a good idea to pick them up and hide them too. Putting a body in bushes or tall grass would work along with hurling them into water or over a wall if that option is available. In some areas, it won’t be a problem if guards are spaced out enough.

Players may wish to use bodies as bait instead to lure in unsuspecting enemies to then strike them from the shadows. Sometimes it can be a gamble, but either way, bodies are something to keep in mind mechanically.

Stabbing through a paper door in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

2Tagging + Eagle Vision

It’s A Killer Combo

Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas a decent tagging system, better than other entries in the series. Players won’t have to use the standard Eagle Vision as the game seemingly trains them to ignore it. While it’s not as useful as it used to be, Eagle Vision can make the tagging system better.

For example, players can tag enemies through walls that they wouldn’t normally see. Also, until they interact with them, enemies will usually stay red for a good amount of time. This can make eliminating them through paper doors easier. So, just keep Eagle Vision in mind.

Fighting bandits with a katana in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

1Plan To Fail

Test Those Reflexes

Finally, allstealth game fansshould know this but failure is an option. Don’t go intoAssassin’s Creed Shadowsplanning to be the perfect ninja because mistakes are naturally going to happen. As a stealthy femme fatale, characteristically Naoe learns to be good on her feet.

If spotted, take enemies head-on by using charged attacks and rolls, or by retreating into the rafters or somewhere else high up. On non-story missions, players can also leave a big area, get rid of their wanted status, and then enter back in like nothing happened. That last method kind of wastes more time than necessary, but the overall tip is to not worry about being perfect.
