“The Iron Hand Guild” is an early-to-mid-game side quest that takes place inAssassin’s Creed Shadows' first few regions. Like many of the other side-quests in the game, this quest reveals a list of targets that Naoe and Yasuke must take out. However, in this case, the quest giver makes the specific request that many of the targets be spared, making it a bit trickier to complete. In this guide, we’ll look athow to complete “The Iron Hand Guild” inAssassin’s Creed Shadows, and how to determine which merchants should be spared.
How to Start The Iron Hand Guild in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Complete the Golden Teppo:
“The Iron Hand Guild” is given byImai Sokun, who you will have previously met during the quest tohunt down the Golden Teppoof the Shinbakufu. Once that mission is complete, you’ll find a quest marker at his location inSakai,Izumi Settsu. The building where Sokun is located can be found just north of the Sakai Kakurega, in theSakai Firearms District.
“The Iron Hand Guild,” like several other ‘criminal organization’ type side quests, is not meant to be completed in one fell swoop. Some of the merchants are found in regions you will likely not visit until mid-game. And while some of the over-leveled merchants are safe to seek out before you are at the correct level, it is not recommended that you try and fight the quest’s boss until you are at least close to level 35, which is his suggested level.
Where to Find All Iron Hand Guild Members in AC Shadows
Iron Hand Guild Locations:
There does not appear to be any in-game benefit to killing or sparing the members of the Iron Hand Guild. Imai Sokun asks Naoe to spare them all, but this is purely up to the player.

Merchant Tamao
Merchant Tamaois located at his brewery in eastern Kyoto, Yamashiro. If you scout west of Honpoji Temple, you’ll find his exact location.
Spare– destroy the wares in front of his shop, then sneak in when he runs out. Grab the letter on the table to the right after entering.
Merchant Kanta
Merchant Kantais located in theMouth of Setaprovince,Omi. In the southwest corner of Lake Biwa, you’ll find him inOtsu.you’re able to go through the process of completing “Missing Ship” by finding the intel on Okishima island on Lake Biwa, but it is not necessary to find him.
Spare– when you approach the building where Kanta is located, you’ll see two blue orbs under observation. One is Kanta, and the other is a letter. Collect the letter, and Kanta will be spared.
Merchant Kin-no-Suke
Kin-no-Sukeis located inObama,Wakasa. You’ll find him east of theTrading Poston the peninsula in central Obama.
Kill- as you approach this merchant, Naoe remarks that he seems as cruel as the Iron Hand. After a fair search, we could not find a way to spare them.
Merchant Ginroku
Ginrokuis in Tamba, in the small village around Miyazu Castle in Miyazu Bay. This is in the far northeast corner of the map.
Spare –When you find Ginroku, do not kill him. Along the street where he is located, you’ll see a wooden gate that you can walk through into an alley. Use Observation to look for a blue orb, which marks the letter then spares him when collected.
The Iron Hand
The Iron Handis located inFukuchiyama Castle, in theFukuchiyamaprovince ofTamba.
Kill –The Iron Hand attacked us as we fought in Fukuchiyama Castle. Check the map to see exactly where we were. If you use Observation from this location, you may sneak up on him when

Where to Find the Missing Ship in The Iron Hand Guild – Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Those players simply looking to find the “Missing Ship” location to locate Merchant Kanta can find it on the large island in the southern portion of Lake Biwa. Head to the southwest tip of Okishima Island, and you’ll find ship wreckage on the coast. The letter is found on one of the destroyed ships, revealing the location of Merchant Kanta.
