ThroughoutAtomfallweapons tend to spawn with the “Rusty” tag, but there arehigher weapon tiersAtomfallplayers can acquire. Though you’re able to find “Stock” weapons in certain locations, you won’t be able to get “Pristine” guns until you have unlocked the ability to craft upgraded weapons.
To upgrade weapons inAtomfall, players need to pick up a particular skill and have the materials on-hand to craft an upgraded gun – including a second copy of the gun you want to improve. This guide explains how to upgrade weapons andwhich materials you will needto gather to craft better weapons inAtomfall.
First, Unlock The Gunsmith Skill
To upgrade weapons,Atomfallplayers will need tounlock the Gunsmith skill. You mustcollect the Crafting Skill Manual in the Delta Storage Room (found in the Interchange) to unlock this skill, thenspend a whopping 7 skill pointsto unlock Gunsmith.
After you purchase this skill, though, you willautomatically begin to unlock weapon upgrade recipesfor every gun you pick up.
There arethree tiers for every gun in the game – “Rusty”, “Stock”, and “Pristine”.Most guns you find will be of the “Rusty” type, though some in the mid to late game will be labeled as “Stock”. You can only craft “Pristine” weapons.
As you upgrade weapons,Atomfallplayers will improve the stability, damage, and other stats associated with each gun type.
How To Craft & Upgrade Weapons In Atomfall
To upgrade weapons inAtomfall,you must have four things: two of any weapon at the same quality level, enough Gun Oil, and enough Scrap. The amount of Gun Oil and Scrap you need to complete a weapon upgrade inAtomfalldepends on which weapon you have selected, and what upgrade level you wish to craft.
Youcannot mix and match weapons of different qualities to craft an upgraded gun. You must have two ‘Rusty’ or two ‘Stock’ weapons to create the higher-tier versions. ‘Pristine’ is the highest tier of weapon available in Atomfall.
It’s a good idea to always keep at least one small inventory slot, and one large inventory slot, free in case you find a copy of a gun you like at the same quality. If youfind or trade for a matching gun, you’ll always have the space to upgrade it from your inventory. You cannot upgrade weapons inAtomfallwith items on the ground – they must be in your backpack.
Once you have two of your chosen weapon and enough Gun Oil and Scrap for your weapon type,open the Crafting menu and scroll through the list to find either the ‘Stock’ or ‘Pristine’ version of that weapon(depending on which quality you possess).
Hold down the crafting input button on your platform, and thetwo weapons will combine into a single higher-tier version of that weapon. Enjoy your higher damage, lowered sway, faster reloads, and other improvements that come with upgradedAtomfallweapons!
