Like any good RPG,Atomfallhas a large array of skills for players to learn over the course of the adventure. However, this game is much different than typical RPGs as it lacks any kind of experience point system. Instead of leveling up by defeating enemies, players will need to find special items that will grant themskill points to use new abilities.
Predictably, these items will be hard to come by in the early portions of the game and will require a lot of exploration to discover them. So here’s how players can gain skill points so they can unlock their full potential inAtomfall.
How To Find Training Stimulants in Atomfall
As previously stated, there is no XP to be gained inAtomfall. To unlock skill points, players need to findTraining Stimulants, an item that, when picked up,will instantly grant the player a skill point. These will look like openwooden cases with the white B.A.R.D. logo.
Since these are special items that are very important for the player’s progression, they won’t be lying out in the open like regular loot. These will often be a reward for completing a difficult task.
For example, finishing a quest for an important NPC may earn the player some Training Stimulants. Exploring bunkers, caves, and other buildings off the beaten path may also score some.
One of the most common places to find Training Stimulants is insidelarge yellow crates with the B.A.R.D. logo marked on them. These are essentiallyAtomfall’sequivalent of special treasure chests containing valuable loot.
They will often be at the end of a difficult location or stashed away in locked or hidden rooms. If the player happens to stumble across them, they shouldn’t hesitate to open them up immediately. They may even include multiple Training Stimulants, which means a whole bunch of skill points.
How To Unlock Skills in Atomfall
Once Training Stimulants have been acquired, the skill points will be available from theSkill tab in the in-game menu. All the player needs to do is navigate to that section and select the skill they wish to unlock, provided they have the right number of skill points.
However, not every skill will be available to activate right from the start. There will be several skill trees that show up as question marks. That means that these skills haven’t been learned yet. For most of these skill trees, the only way to learn them is by findingSkill Booksscattered around the quarantine zone.
They can be purchased from traders through the bartering system, found in chests, picked up by exploring, or given as rewards for finishing certain questlines.
There are multiple ways to find Skill Books, but each can only be used once. This means that players may pick up multiple versions of a Skill Book they’ve already read. However, these aren’t useless, as they can be used to barter with traders. These tend to be valuable items, so chances are that players can use Skill Books they’ve already learned to swap for new Skill Books that traders have in their inventory.
Once a player obtains a Skill Book, they can learn the skills inside by using it from their inventory. These new skills will show up in the Skills section and can now be unlocked with skill points.
