Managing your inventory is fairly straightforward inAvowed, but carrying too much weight can quickly become a problem. When you are encumbered, your character slows down to a crawl, making you a sitting duck against those pesky spiders or other enemies crawling all over the Living Lands. Perhaps you accidentally overburdened yourself by picking up a heavy piece of armor during a fight. These are some of the few times you will probably start searching for a button to dropunwanted gear inAvowed. However, what you really want is a better and efficient way to clear your inventory without abandoning any items at all. Here’s what you need to know.
How to Drop Items in Avowed
Unfortunately, you cannot drop any items inAvowed. There is no way to get rid of a weapon, armor, materials, or consumables by dropping them on the ground. You can, however, remove items from your inventoryto clear clutter and increase your carrying capacity.
You can do this in two ways:break down items for crafting/upgrade materialsor stash them in your party storage chest at camp. Both options are accessible anytime, anywhere. You just have to open your inventory, highlight the item in question, andpress or hold R/X on PC/Xboxto stash or break it down. The button prompts are in the lower part of your inventory screen, as shown in the image below. However, be warned, once an item is broken down, it is lost forever. So, double-check to confirm your item before dropping it into the grinder.
Focus on breaking down items instead of selling them to have enough upgrade parts for your weapons and armor inAvowed. Once you reach Emerald Stair, you will berolling in money.
The inability to drop your gear inAvowedshould not be a major concern. Your default carrying capacity is enough to not get encumbered, andevery build prioritizes Might, which also increases carrying capacity. Hence, you rarely have to worry about running out of space or becoming encumbered.
The only time you might consider getting rid of an item is when you pick up some rotten food, which is a pretty common type of loot. Eating spoiled cabbage, cucumbers, apples, or other rotten items causes food poisoning, building up poison accumulation and dealing damage over time. Many new players try dropping them on the ground to avoid accidentally eating them during a fight. Instead, justsend them to your party stashand deal with them later.
Save all the rotten food you find. They are used as ingredients for some of the mostpowerful cooking recipes inAvowed.
