Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionhas a weapon system tied to their classes that more RPGs should incorporate. Every class in the game can equip one melee and one ranged weapon. For example, the Commando class can equip Dual Guns and Dual Swords.
There are repeat weapons for the classes out there, but this is still overall a uniqueclass system inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. Abilities are tied to weapons and switching between them mid-battle is simple. It allows players to adapt to battles on the fly like if there is a flying enemy, a sword won’t be much use. That said, let’s go over some of the better weapons players should try to find while getting their randomized loot early on.
8Advanced Titanium Sword 2
A Weapon To Assist Special Attacks
The Advanced Titanium Sword 2 is a Longsword and the earliest class players can equip this weapon to is the Striker. The blade design is rather solid, almost like one big chunk of metal not unlike Cloud’sBuster Sword fromFinal Fantasy 7. It has Gain TP 3 attached which will increase the rate at which their TP will increase. TP can be used for offensive or defensive skills or 3,000 TP can naturally be used to revive an ally in battle. That’s probably the best use of TP inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.
7Advanced Soldier Assault Rifle 3
A Basic But Steady Gun
The Advanced Soldier Assault Rifle 3 is quite obviously an Assault Rifle and two early classes can equip this weapon: Drifter and Striker. It looks like a standard assault rifle that players could pick up in a shooter likeCall of Duty. It has Damage Up 3 attached which will boost attack power for this weapon if the name wasn’t obvious. Of all the gun-based weapons inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, Assault Rifles tend to be more accurate and have a decent range or that is until Sniper Rifles are unlocked with future classes.
6Advanced Titanium Blades 2
Less Chances To Miss
Like the Advanced Titanium Sword 2 Longsword, the Advanced Titanium Blades 2 have an odd design to them almost like they aren’t weapons at all. These Dual Swords can be equipped to Commandos, which is the starting class ofElma inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.
The attached skill is Melee Accuracy Up 3 which will make sure the Advanced Titanium Blades 2 will hit more than miss. That’s one for eh starlets things about the game, melee attacks missing which is quite common despite the animations clearly connecting no matter what.
5Worn Warrior Gemels
Two Guns For The Price Of One
The Worn Warrior Gemels are a pair of Dual Guns that the Commando can also equip. When it comes to bayonets on guns, most probably picture a rifle fromthe Civil War. That’s what makes these guns odd as they look like submachine guns with giant knives protruding. The attached ability is called Side Attack Plus 3 which will increase attack power if players attack an enemy from the side. This is easier to pull off on larger enemies where sides are bigger targets.
4Worn Titanium Knife 2
A Double Dose Of Cutlery
The Worn Titanium Knife 2 is a Knife weapon that can be equipped to Drifters and Enforcers early on. This weapon looks more like a machete than a knife, but since the world of Mira is covered in giant beasts, it is a fitting size. It has two abilities attached and one is better than the other. First, Melee Attack Up will help the Shield maximize its power. Second, Potential Up 1 can help with all things related to TP and it could boost healing.Potential is kind of a mysterious stat inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionkind of like Luck in other RPGs.
3Advanced Soldier Raygun
Cut Down Robots With Ease
The Advanced Soldier Raygun is a Raygun which can be equipped to Enforcers. Rayguns are some of the oddest designed weapons players can find in the game but they are also a lot of fun to use at least when using abilities. Most attack abilities attached to Enforcers, for example, fire concreted beams at enemies which can pierce through others and thus players can strategically blast through multiple enemies at once.
Players can pretend they arePiccolo fromDragon Ball Z, firing his Special Beam Cannon during the fight with Raditz when wielding a Raygun. Anime references aside, the attached ability can take down robotic enemies faster with Mechanoid Slayer 3.
2Worn Titanium Shield
Good For Defense And Offense
Players will have to work hard to equip any type of Shield weapons to their character like the Worn Titanium Shield as the associated class, Shield Trooper, is part of the third tier. However,Lin, an early party member inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, starts with this class. Shields in the game rarely look like common shields in RPGs and typically look like giant slabs of metal with weird protrusions almost like Shion’s weapon from Monolith Soft’s firstXenoseries,Xenosaga. The Worn Titanium Shield has two attached abilities with Theroid Criticals Up 1 assisting in taking down Thyroid-based enemies and Ether Resistance Up 1 protecting from Ether attacks.
1Storm Machine 2
Heavy Artillery From A Distance
The Storm Machine 2 is a Gatling Gun which Shield Troopers can also equip. Even though the weapon becomes a typical-looking Gatling Gun found in shooters, there is a transforming aspect of these weapons which makes them appear as Shields initially. The attached ability is Ranged Accuracy Up 1 meaning that even from a max distance, the bullets should hit their mark. It’s funny to consider a small character like Lin being able to wield a giant weapon like this.
