Reignbreakeris afast-paced action roguelikethat puts you in the shoes of Clef, a rebel determined to bring down the Queen’s oppressive Grand Bastion. As you push forward, the game relentlessly ramps up the difficulty, throwing wave after wave of enemies your way. The further you progress, the tougher the challenge gets.
Luckily, you canpower up Clef at your camp using the Resolve Engine. But spending your Resolve wisely in the early game is crucial if you want to survive longer and consistently complete raids. To give yourself the best shot at success, here are thebest Resolve upgrades to unlock early inReignbreaker.

Unlock Cost
100 Resolve
Reignbreakeris a fast-paced combat roguelike where positioning makes all the difference. You start with only one Dash, and since it goes on a cooldown, you’ll be left defenseless for a while once you use it. Thankfully,Dasher is an easy unlock that costs only 100 Resolve, giving you an extra dash to use when things turn south.
You can get it pretty much the first time you reach the camp. Upgrading the Dasher a second time, however, is a heavy investment requiring 1500 Resolve. So, it’s best to leave it at level 1 for the initial stage.
Health and Heat are two important aspects of the game. Health dictates the total damage you can take before your run ends, while Heat affects how frequently you can use the Javelin and Bayonet abilities. The Hot and Cold upgrade from the Resolve Engine increases both your Health and Heat capacity, allowing you to stay in battle for longer and spam your Javelin abilities.
This is the next upgrade we recommend picking up after upgrading the Dash. It costs only 100 Resolve to upgrade once and 150 to upgrade it a second time, increasing your maximum Health and Heat by 30%. This will also unlock thenext tier of Resolve upgradesin the Survival branch.
150 Resolve
InReignbreaker, the Javelin serves as your main-range weapon. There are two basic Javelin moves you can use in the beginning: Throw and Slam. With the Javelin Strike upgrade, you’ll unlock a third way to use the Javelin to deal damage. The attack is similar to Punch attacks and benefits from all the Javelin projectile Artefacts you pick up on your run.
Upgrading it once only costs 150 Resolve and boosts the damage of all your Javelin-based attacks by 5%. Upgrading it a second time with 250 Resolve will bump up the total Javelin attack damage to 10%, which is a pretty nice boost if you want it.

300 Resolve
As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock new Javelin types by defeating the bosses. Withthe Dual Javelins upgrade, you may bring up to two Javelins with you on the run and switch between them with a 3-second cooldown.
On top of that, switching between the two Javelins also reduces the Heat by a flat amount. The upgrade costs 300 Resolve to unlock, which is a pretty small investment considering the level of utility it offers.
250 Resolve
Of the three branches inReignbreaker, the Utility branch is the least effective one unless you’re going for a specific build. But it’s still worth spending 300 Resolve on the branch to unlock the Resolve Multiplier upgrade. Unlocking the upgrade increases the amount of Resolve gained on a run by 20%, which can help you unlock more upgrades in the Resolve Engine for your future runs.

500 Resolve
Rise is a big investment, with its hefty 500 Resolve price. On top of that, since it’s a Tier 3 skill, you’ll have to spend a big chunk of your Resolve into the skill tree just to get to it. But that doesn’t change that it’s one of the best upgrades to get in the game.
Rise essentially gives you a second shot at life when your health reaches zero. Instead of ending your run, you will instead resurrect with 20 HP. Despite the heavy cost, it’s worth unlocking this upgrade as soon as possible.
Most melee enemies inReignbreakerrequire an Execution to finish them off. With the Critical Kill unlocked, every time youExecute an enemy, you get a bonus to your Critical Hit chance for 10 seconds. On top of that, the effect can stack up to 5 times at the base level.
Of course, it’s a bit pricey since it’s a Tier 3 upgrade. But it’s definitely worth working towards, especially since you’ve raised the Bastion security a couple of times.
Reignbreakercan be a tough game to get into, especially in the early game. But once you unlock a few of the Resolve upgrades, things get a lot easier. With each new upgrade, Clef will get stronger and be able to take on the threats of the Bastion without dying.
