Summary

Bosch: Legacy’s fourth episode sees Harry Bosch facing some serious questions at the grand jury hearing in relation to Kurt Dockweiler’s death, and his potential involvement with Preston Borders.It all leads to a very dramatic showdown between Bosch and Borders that will go down in history as one of the best moments in Bosch-verse history.

Elsewhere, Honey Chandler refuses to throw Bosch under the bus in her quest to become District Attorney of Los Angeles, but she must enlist the help of journalist, Scott Anderson: off the record, of course. Maddie and Vasquez’s investigation into the follow home robberies is gathering pace, whileHarry Bosch’s investigationinto Finbar McShane’s dodgy dealings has opened up a can of worms in the missing person’s case.

Bosch: Legacyseason 3, episode 4 begins with Robertson and Perez paying Curtis Dignan a visit to let him know they are onto him over his involvement with Bosch andPreston Borders. Elsewhere,Bosch and Mo Bassi are looking into Finbar McShane’s business dealings, and it leads them to a guy known as Bing,who has a significant rap sheet that includes a botched robbery. Meanwhile,Honey Chandler’s campaignis facing problems and requires some serious damage control. However, she refuses to throw Harry Bosch under the bus, despite his insistence that she does, and she considers other alternatives. One of these alternatives involves an off-the-record chat with journalist, Scott Anderson.

Curtis Dignan is interrogated by Robertson and Perez, but he gives them the finger despite the information they have on him that links him to Borders,Kurt Dockweilerand, of course, Harry Bosch. They lock him up, and it becomes known that Borders will have to testify in front of the grand jury. Later on,Robertson and Perez transport Preston Borders in a car, and the convicted killer is thoroughly enjoying yanking their chains while gets a brief taste of the outside world.

Robertson taunts Borders about his links to Curtis Dignan, and his use of burner phones. He is informed that he’ll have to testify in front of a grand jury, before any meeting with the District Attorney takes place. Bosch pulls a gun on Bing and questions him about Finbar McShane, and what exactly he was buying from him. He insists it was equipment amounting to as much as 100k.Bosch pays Sheila Walsh a visit and pleads with her to reveal what’s going on with the company, and how these dodgy dealings might have led to the disappearance of the family.She insists Stephen said they were going on vacation, but there’s more to it, and Bosch knows it.

What Happens During The Big Showdown Between Harry Bosch And Preston Borders?

Harry Bosch attends the grand jury hearing where he is interrogated by DDA Susan Saldano.She asks Bosch about his involvement with Curtis Dignan, and he reveals he was an old confidential informant on a homicide case, and he helped him get released. He’s also pushed into admitting he met up with him, before invoking his fifth amendment privilege when he hears about Dignan’s incarceration. Preston Borders is next up to testify to the grand jury, and he’s quizzed about the burner phone that links him to a call to a residence located in the Hollywood Hills, which happens to be where Harry Bosch lives. Borders also invokes his fifth amendment. After the grand jury,Bosch notices something is up, when he spots Borders' wife, Rita Tedesco, acting shady outside the courthouse, and he warns Robertson and Perez:

Something ain’t jake here. You guys are being played, we all are.

The detective duo play down Bosch’s concerns, and begin the journey to transport Borders back to where he belongs: Wasco State Prison:

Bosch follows them in his car, and watches on as a vehicle with armed henchmen crashes into Robertson and Perez' car. One of the henchmen uncuffs Borders, but Bosch turns up and fires at his old adversary, and a big shootout ensues. Lopez shoots a bad guy in the head, while Robertson chases after Borders, who is also being tailed by Bosch. Borders heads towards an abandoned warehouse, cutting himself on barbed wire along the way. Bosch catches up to Borders, but the convict jumps out at him and pulls a gun on him.Robertson turns up just in time to shoot Borders dead, and save Bosch’s life.Maddie turns to comfort her father, as Jimmy promises to clear his name.Bosch: Legacy’s season 3fourth episode ends when Bosch receives a voicemail from Sheila Walsh, who agrees to discuss Finbar McShane, but when he arrives at her home, he discovers her dead body.
