It feels safe to say five months after launch thatCall of Duty: Black Ops 6is now one of the most complete entries in franchise history, especially when it comes to its Zombies mode.Black Ops 6 Zombieslaunched with two maps, with Liberty Falls catering to casual players and Terminus catering to long-time fans of the horde mode, and both were packed to the brim with Easter eggs, Wonder Weapons, and Perks. These maps were soon joined by two more,Citadelle des Morts and The Tomb, both of which added their own servings of new content.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6Season 3 is right around the corner now, and it’s set to bring yet another fresh Zombies experience to the table. Titled ‘Shattered Veil,’ this new map will see players explore Edward Richtofen’s abandoned mansion, which, of course, will be filled with enemies, mini-bosses, Easter eggs, and a returning Perk, one whichCall of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombiessorely needs.

Black Ops 6 Double Tap

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Shattered Veil Map Is Right To Bring Back Double Tap

Double Tap Is Exactly What Black Ops 6 Zombies Needs

After almost a decade-long hiatus,Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombiesis finally bringing back the Double Tap Perk. Available at the start ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6Season 3on April 3, Double Tap will be present on the new Shattered Veil map, along with being retroactively added to all four previously released Zombies maps.

For those unaware,Call of Duty Zombies' Double Tap Perkdramatically increases the fire-rate of the player’s weapons. This essentially means that players are able to mow down enemies much faster, albeit at the cost of ammo. Double Tap should go a long way in fixing one ofBlack Ops 6’s most apparent issues.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6Zombieshas a mini-boss problem. While theManglers, Abominations, and Amalgamsare all well-designed enemy types that can throw a satisfying challenge in the player’s way, their implementation inBlack Ops 6’s Zombies mode leaves a lot to be desired. These mini-bosses could all be categorized as “bullet-sponges,” requiring an absurd amount of ammunition to take down, and on higher rounds it’s common to see several mini-bosses spawn in simultaneously.

To take these mini-bosses down efficiently, players need to rely on Wonder Weapons and Scorestreaks to get the job done. But with Double Tap’s faster fire-rate, regular weapons might finally be able to take down these bullet-sponge bosses in a reasonable timeframe.Double Tap’s new Major and Minor Augmentsare sure to help this as well:

Double Tap Is a Fan-Favorite

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6launched with most of the Perks fans would expect to see from a modern Zombies entry, with Juggernog, Speed Cola, and Quick Revive all making a return. But there were still plenty of fan-favorite Perks that didn’t make the cut.Black Ops 6 Zombies' post-launch mapsadded Vulture Aid and Death Perception, and while it’s fun to see these overlooked Perks get another shot in the spotlight, the latter proved incredibly weak and was panned by players. Double Tap, on the other hand, is a Perk fans have been waiting since 2015 to see again. Double Tap’s presence in Shattered Veil is an undeniable win for fans, and hopefully another long-awaited Perk - Mule Kick - will be joining it soon.
