Summary

For a team largely made up of sidekicks, rejects, and misfits, theTeen Titansboasts some of the most impressive characters out of DC’s many superhero teams. Since the team first appeared inThe Brave and Bold #54,it’s been through multiple iterations, but each version has taken on some ofDC’smost dangerous threats. It’s no exaggeration to say the Teen Titans are one ofDC’s best superhero teams.

After growing up, many of the Teen Titans go on to become members of the mighty Justice League, often surpassing their mentors. But some are certainly stronger than others. These are some of the team’s most powerful members, taking into account their strengths, powers, weaknesses, and feats. This ranking mainly considers their time as team members, but will take their potential into account.

Nightwing wielding his escrima stick in Nightwing #120

Martial Arts Expertise

Gadgets and Technology

Compared to other members of the team, Nightwing might not seem all that powerful at first glance. Like his mentor, Batman, Dick Grayson doesn’t have any superhuman abilities or superpowers. Instead, he has peak human fitness, and is a master of acrobatics and martial arts. He was trained by the best, after all.

Aqualad

But like Bruce, Dick isn’t all brawn. Before becoming Nightwing, Dick wasone of the best Robins. He’s a strategic mastermind and brilliant detective, and has led the team countless times. His transformation from Robin to Nightwing during theJudas Contractarc was a pivotal moment in DC history. But still, Nightwing is lacking in power compared to other members. He might be a fan favorite, but when scaled purely on strength, he gets the bottom ranking.

Electrokinesis

Enhanced Senses

Aquaman is one of Earth’s most powerful heroes, but he’s been the butt of comic fans’ jokes for decades. His sidekick, Aqualad, has fared better. The original version of the character, Garth, had similar powers to Aquaman but was portrayed as slightly weaker. The newer version, Jackson Hyde/ Kaldur’ahm, is much more interesting.

An Atlantean/Xebillian hybrid, Jackson was brought up as a normal kid until his powers manifested duringBrightest Day. This Aqualad has powerful hydrokinesis, letting him create hard water constructs like weapons. On top of these water powers, he has an enhanced physiology and can generate dangerous bioelectric shocks. Compared to other members, Jackson’s powers aren’t always impressive, especially considering his reliance on being near water. But like Nightwing, that hasn’t stopped him from rising through the ranks to lead his team.

Miss Martian being chased by monsters

Emotional Instability

Enhanced Strength/ Durability

Miss Martian is the niece (kind of) of Martian Manhunter, who is often portrayed as being on a similar level as Superman. It should be no surprise that Miss Martian ranks among her team’s heaviest hitters. As a White Martian, she has almost all the same powers as her Green Martian uncle, including superhuman strength, invulnerability, and telepathy.

On occasion, she’s almost as powerful as her uncle, butmost writers choose to scale back her powers a step. As a White Martian, Miss Martian often struggles with her darker impulses, holding her back from using her powers to their fullest. With time and experience, she’ll likely becomeone of the team’s most powerful members, but as long as she’s holding back, she gets a lower ranking.

Reliance On Scarab

Flight And Enhanced Senses

This entry refers to the Jaime Reyes version of the character, since the original was a Justice League member and never served with the Titans. Jaime was another normal kid until he found a strange alien scarab that gifted him incredible powers. When bonded with the Khaji Da scarab, Blue Beetle has an impressive range of powers. He gets all the usual superhuman enhancements, as well as the ability to create constructs from his armor, like plasma cannons and energy swords.

wonder girl

Blue Beetle helped defeat Brother Eye and even managed todefeat the Black Lantern Ted Kord(the original Blue Beetle). But he has his limitations. The scarab is sentient, and for much of his time as a team member, Jaime had to fight for control of both it and his own body at times.

Magical Artifacts

Combat Training

There are two versions of Wonder Girl to discuss here. The original, Donna Troy, was a founding member of the Titans and Wonder Woman’s right-hand girl. Her powers stemmed from her Amazonian physiology, granting her similar powers to Wonder Woman. Later on, these powers evolved thanks to comic book shenanigans. After returning from the dead, she could rival eventhe strongest versions of Wonder Woman.

The current version is Cassie Sandsmark, granddaughter of Zeus and Wonder Woman’s niece. Her divine heritage gives her incredible powers, bolstered further through magical artifacts like the Gauntlet of Atlas and Sandals of Hermes. Cassie has led the team multiple times, with mixed results. There’s no doubting either version of the character is powerful, but not quite up there with higher-ranking members.

Cyborg

Regeneration And Adaptation

Energy Weapons

Psychological Trauma

Cyborg, aka Victor Stone, is one of the best-known members of the Titans. After his son was in a tragic accident, Victor Stone’s father gave Victor cybernetic enhancements that gave him superhuman strength, durability, and stamina. They also gave him technopathy, meaning he can interface with and control any computer on the planet. He can also shape-shift his limbs into energy-based weapons like plasma cannons and sonic blasters.

During the New 52 era, he became even more powerful. Cyborg was given a connection to the Mother Box, which amplified his powers and added new ones like Boom Tube teleportation and regeneration. However, his tech-based nature also limits his ranking.Cyborg has been hacked multiple times, leading to him being disabled or even controlled.

Kid Flash punching Damian Wayne

Vortex Creation

Dependency On Speed Force

Kid Flash is a tough one to rank. Speedsters tend to be some of DC’s most powerful heroes. Examples like Barry Allen and Wally West (the original Kid Flash and founding member of the Teen Titans) can travel through time and give heroes like Superman a run or their money.

But the various Kid Flashes don’t tend to develop these powers until later on. As members of the Titans, they’re still fast (Wally was often shown hitting 720 mph) but nowhere near the levels they reach later. Wally West went on to rival and perhaps even surpass Barry Allen as the Flash, but that was after his time as a Teen Titan. Still, pure potential, the multiple Kid Flashes get a high ranking.

Nightwing & Starfire

Naivety

Tamaran Physiology

Starfire isa princess from the planet Tamaranand has powers similar to Superman’s. She packs superhuman strength, durability, endurance, and faster-than-light flight, while her Tamaranean physiology means she can absorb ultraviolet radiation and use it to power her attacks.

Similar to Superman’s heat vision, Starfire can project deadly energy blasts known as “star bolts,” which can be released in a massive supernova explosion that can level entire landscapes. Aside from her reliance on UV radiation, her only real weakness is her naivety, since she’s a fish out of water on Earth. Still, with powers like these, Starfire is no slouch. Alongsideher love interest, Dick Grayson, she’s been one of the team’s most powerful members from early on.

Conner lifting a robot into the air in Superboy #4

X-ray Vision

Invulnerability

As a clone of both Superman and Lex Luthor (or of Jon Lane Kent during the New 52 era), Conner Kent comes with all theSuperman-related powersone would expect, plus tactile telekinesis, which lets him manipulate objects by touching them.

Superboy has taken on enemies like Superboy-Prime and Doomsday and lived to tell the tale. DuringTitans Tomorrow, it was shown he eventually became the Superman of the future. As a member of the Titans, he’s usually portrayed as not quite as strong as the true Superman, but like the Kid Flashes, he has a ton of future potential.

DC Heroes Who Could Beat Homelander- Raven

Shadow Travel

Negative Energy Absorption

As powerful as the other members are, only one could top this list. The daughter of Trigon, one ofDC’s most powerful demons, Raven is a magical powerhouse. She can perform reality-warping spells, control shadows, and manipulate others’ emotions.

Trigon himself has stated that Raven essentially has the potential to wield infinite magical power, and that potential has been shown the handful of times she has cut loose. The only thing holding Raven back is her reluctance to embrace her half-demon nature, because she fears it would leave her open to Trigon’s evil influence. No one else on the team can match her, and she’s proven herself in battle time and again.
