Demon Slayer will be getting a movie trilogy, and these movies will cover the entirety of the manga’s final two arcs, notably, the Infinity Castle arc and the Sunrise Countdown Arc.
The first movie is coming out soon, and will cover the first part of the Infinity Castle arc, featuring some major battles that are sure to keep fans hooked. This first movie is scheduled for release this very year. Specifically, it will be released July 21, 2025. It’s still unknown when exactly the other 2 movies will drop, but it will still be a few years until the trilogy is completed.These movies are definitely going to break some records, especially asDemon Slayerhas previously dropped the best-performing movie ever in Japanese history.
Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train,became the biggest movie to ever hit the Japanese box office. It was released back in 2020, and has yet to be surpassed by any movie released since then. With how exciting the story will be for these 3 movies, the box office expectations are off the charts, and it’s almost guaranteed that they will be a huge success.
It’s important to note, though, that the Mugen Train movie was released during the pandemic, and during the height of Demon Slayer’s popularity, so while the new movies will definitely be a huge success, it’s unknown if they will be able to dethrone the Mugen Train movie, as that one had all odds stacked to its advantage.
Will The Trilogy Also Be Adapted into an Animated Series?
The Mugen Train arc was first adapted into a movie, before it made it into Season 2 ofDemon Slayer. Following this logic, it might make sense to assume the same thing will happen with the arcs adapted into the movie trilogy.
While nothing is confirmed, it’s not impossible that the studio will want to capitalize on the success of the series. So, fans will have to wait and see.
