Nezuko is an important character in the series, as she is the one who brings Tanjiro into the story. While fans might miss her during the Infinity Castle arc, she is back in the final section of the story, when she plays a key role in the aftermath of Muzan’s defeat.
Tanjiro’s New Form in Sunrise Countdown Arc
Nezuko doesn’t go with the Demon Slayer Corps when they invade the Infinity Castle, so shedoesn’t appear for most of the Infinity Castle arc. However, she plays an important role in the final arc, Sunrise Countdown.
However, when Muzan is defeated, he uses his last power to turn Tanjiro into a demon. Seeing Tanjiro’s potential, Muzan wants him to carry out his wish for immortality, andturns him into Demon King Tanjiro. The final section, in whichthe Demon Slayers have to deal with Demon Tanjiro, is one of the most interesting plot twists and exciting moments for many fans.
Nezuko’s Role in Bringing Tanjiro Back
Nezuko senses that something is wrong, while Sakonji, Urokodaki and Kiriya try to stop her from heading to where Tanjiro is. On her way to reach Tanjiro, she begins to turn back to her human form and remembers everything since her family was murdered and what Tanjiro did for her.
Whenshe finally reaches Demon King Tanjiro, he seems to be unable to hurt her at all. In fact,if Nezuko hadn’t made it in time, there is a good possibility that Demon King Tanjiro would have killed everyone. Nezuko yells at him, begging him not to let Muzan’s will take over him.
While the Hashira are trying to defeat Tanjiro, he is fighting his own battles in his mind. Luckily, Tanjiro doesn’t give up and Kanao injects him with a medicine that reverses his transformation, so he’s back to his human form.
It’s frustrating, but don’t give in. It’s almost over, so don’t turn into a demon.

However, it is said that those with the Demon Slayer Mark die before they reach the age of 25, so Tanjiro only has a few years left to live. Anyway, despite not fighting,Nezuko plays a major role in the final arc, giving the Demon Slayers a chance to bring Tanjiro back, as the efforts of those who urged him not to give up were able to reach him, helping Tanjiro refuse to be consumed by his desires.
How Powerful Is Demon King Tanjiro?
Tanjiro isquite strong as a demon: he even conquered the sun. Even though he was given the medicine before he was fully transformed, it is clear that he was on a different level than any other demon so far. Many fans claim that his resistance to the sun would make him immune to the Nichirin Blade, but some disagree, as this is only a claim made by Giyu Tomioka, and not something explicitly shown in the series.
In addition to his resistance to the sun, Demon Tanjiro also has a powerful regenerative ability. As we haven’t seen his full potential, it is impossible to know exactly how strong he would become. Some even claim thathe would even beat Yoriichi, but this allegation is hard to prove since Yoriichi is portrayed as a legendary hero who was never matched by anyone.
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie Release Date
Thefirst movie of theDemon Slayer: The Infinity Castletrilogy will be released in Japan on August 01, 2025. It will be out in the US a few months later,on September 12. There are rumors that a new movie will be released every two years.
So far, it is not entirely clear if the trilogy will adapt the entire Final Battle arc, or if it will cover only the events that take place before the Infinity Castle is destroyed. Either way, it will be a while before the anime adapts this final portion of the story.
