The Four-Effect Drug Preparation For The Battle Against Muzan

How Did The Anti-Kibutsuji Drug Work?

Despite Shinobu’s deep hatred for demons, sheput aside her grudges and worked togetherwith Tamayo, knowing it was the only way to stop Muzan. Tamayo knew Muzan very well and was aware of his strengths and weaknesses.

We don’t have the strength to fight Muzan head-on, so we will take away his power instead - Tomayo

Demon Slayer

Her knowledge, combined with Shinobu’s expertise in Wisteria Poison used against demons, gave us the powerfulAnti Kibutsuji drugwhich turned the odds of the battle in their favor. The drug itself was meant to have four major effects on Muzan.

Converting Muzan Into A Human

The first effect of the drug was toconvert Muzan into a human. This was definitely pretty risky as the transformation into a demon is considered a permanent one and the only way out of this curse is death. However, Tamayo had spent ages finding a possible cure to reverse the curse and turn a demon into a human once again.

Tamayo had also been studying Nezuko’s blood after every battle she went through. However, the first effect failed and, if only it had worked, Muzan would have turned into a human and it would have been much easier to defeat him. The drug did weaken him considerably, but Tamayo and Shinobu knew that they would need much more than this to defeat Muzan. To ensure his downfall, they designed it with three additional effects.

Rapid Aging

The second effect of the drug was to counter theregenerative speed of Muzan. He was so powerful that he could recover from the deadliest of strikes instantly and even if he were shredded into the littlest of pieces, he would regenerate within seconds.

The drug accelerated Muzan’s aging, causing him to age approximately 50 years per minute, which would drastically weaken his body over time. This made him very vulnerable, and after about 5 hours of the drug being consumed, Muzan started aging rapidly. He started to lose his strength and stamina andhis attacks became much weaker.

Stopping Muzan From Escaping Battle

Tamayo knew that when Muzan reached the verge of defeat he would split himself into smaller parts toescape from the battlefieldand regenerate himself after he reached a safe spot.

I don’t need to be stronger than you to kill you. I will just make you weaker. Just as you will do whatever it takes to stay alive, I, No, we will do whatever it takes to kill you - Tamayo to Muzan

So the third effect was to prevent Muzan from splitting himself up and escaping so that the corps could finish him once and for all.

Breaking Muzan Down At The Cellular Level

The final and most lethal effect of the Anti-Kibutsuji drug was to kill Muzan by breaking down his body at a cellular level. This effect proved to be the ultimate key in defeating Muzan as his cells kept on dying over time, which also stopped his regenerating and healing abilities.

By the time the drug had completelytaken over Muzan’s body, the demon king was falling apart. While he tried to keep himself alive by eating the members of the corps, none of it mattered as the drug had already done its job.

The Drug’s Role In Defeating Muzan

This drug was one of the key reasons why Demon Slayers were able to defeat Muzan for good. Without this, Muzan would have kept on fighting at his full potential and would have killed every single member of the corps inDemon Slayer.

If it wasn’t forTamayo’s sacrificeto inject the drug into Muzan andShinobu’s helpto make it strong enough to defeat him, the demon king would have won easily.
