In its latest weeklyblog post, Bungie confirmed that popular pulse rifle Redrix’s Estoc is in line for some nerfs. The weapon has become popular with players as it has the Legacy PR-55 Frame archetype, which also came with theHalo-inspired BxR-55 Battler rifle. The intrinsic trait gives the weapon huge bonuses to accuracy, stability, and targeting while firing from the hip, making it popular in PvP modes like the Crucible. While also fixing a bug that prevented some players from earning a fixed roll of the Redrix’s Estoc Competitive Pulse Rifle after finishing their placement matches, Bungie also revealed the weapon is being retuned to make it less oppressive in PvP activities.

As a competitive reward, Redrix’s Estoc has higher than normal stats, though the blog admits that some of these values are still way higher than its BxR-55 sibling, resulting in the handling getting a 5-point reduction. One of the most popular perks on the weapon is Sword Logic, which grants bonus damage after getting weapon kills. Bungie plans to roll this out to other weapons eventually and, inthe currentDestiny 2sandbox, it’s performing a little too well. As such, the base damage bonus and increased bonus are both being reduced, though this change is only impacting PvP modes.

One of the more controversial changes is that Bungie is reverting some of the buffs added toLightweight Pulse Rifles inDestiny 2’s 8.1.5.3 Update. Body shot and critical hit damage are being reduced slightly, though Bungie confirms that the new values are still higher than they were before the update. Alongside the pulse rifle changes, Nightstalker Hunters using the new On The Prowl aspect are also seeing some PvP nerfs, especially when used in conjunction with the Smoke Bomb. Glow intensity for hunter players as well as some of the smoke debuffs are being reduced.
