Deadlinereports thatModern Familyactor Eric Stonestreet has joined theDexter: Resurrectioncast.Stonestreet will play a character named Al, who has a midwestern background and is believed to be a serial killer. According to the trade, Stonestreet will appear in four episodes ofDexter: Resurrection. The Emmy-winning actor celebrated the news by sharing the trade’s report on his casting on Instagram and expressing how excited he was to work with the “outstanding"Dexter: Resurrectionteam. While Stonestreet may be best known for his comedic role as Cameron Tucker inModern Family, he has experience with dramatic characters on projects such asCSI: Crime Scene Investigationand the HBO political thriller filmConfirmation.

Who Else Has Joined The Dexter: Resurrection Cast?

Stonestreet joinsDexterfranchise veterans Hall, James Remar as Harry Morgan (Dexter’s late father who appears as the personification of his inner monologue), David Zayas as Angel Batista, and Jack Alcott as Harrison. The cast of newcomers includes big-name performers likeKill Billlead Uma Thurman,How I Met Your Motherstar Neil Patrick Harris,Game of Thronesactor Peter Dinklage, andJessica Jonesactress Krysten Ritter. WhileDexter: Resurrectionplot details are unknown, Thurman is known to be playing Charley, the head of security to Dinklage’s Leon Prater, a billionaire philanthropist with a dark secret who is reportedly the show’s primary antagonist. While Carpenter reprised her role inDexter: New Blood(with the deceased Debra replacing Harry as Dexter’s guiding ghost), the actress explained that she felt she “completed that box” but hoped that everyone involved in the new series is having “a wonderful time.”
