Summary
Everspace 2has shared a detailed overview of the Wraith spaceship arriving as part of theWrath of the Ancientsexpansion. The upcoming DLC pack also promises to expandEverspace 2with a new storyline and locations, among other novelties.
Developed by German studio Rockfish Games,Everspace 2is aDiablo-like action RPGthat debuted on PC in April 2023 before making its way to the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5 in August of the same year. The game was met with near-universal acclaim, as underlined by its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, derived from an average score of 83 and a 94% reviewer recommendation rate. Its first post-launch expansion,Titans, debuted in September 2024.
Rockfish Games recently announced anotherEverspace 2DLC pack in the form ofWrath of the Ancients. Following up on that reveal, the developer has now shared a video overview of the upcoming expansion that focuses on the Wraith, a newEverspace 2shipthat’s planned to debut as part ofWrath of the Ancients. Since it’s a unique spacecraft, the Wraith won’t be available for purchase from ship dealers, but will only be obtainable from one specific location in the expansion. Design-wise, the Wraith is a medium/heavy Okkar fighter that wouldn’t look out of place in any fleet operated by the reptilian race.
New Everspace 2 Ship Will Have a Semi-Corporeal State
The coloring of the ship will be customizable using highlights, and the spacecraft will also be compatible with the cybernetic glow option from theEverspace 2Supporter Pack. However, modifying its shape via modules won’t be an option, on account of the Wraith being a unique vessel. Likewise, the ship’s passives will be predetermined rather than dependent on RNG rolls. TheEverspace 2weaponsattached to the Wraith—as well as the vessel’s overall stats—make it suitable for high-risk, high-reward type of combat, Rockfish Games said. When things get messy, the Wraith can activate its Spectral Form, which transforms it into a semi-corporeal state and makes its hull decay while simultaneously increasing its damage and replacing its devices with new special abilities. Once the hull drops to zero, the mode ends and the ship’s health is restored in full.
TheWrath of the AncientsDLC will be accompanied by an update that will add one more hangar slot to the base game, on top of introducing a variety of bug fixes. The expansion will also feature a new storyline, mobs, bosses, and Okkar equipment. Four new star systems will be part of the package as well, together with more crafting blueprints and an expanded soundtrack.
Wrath of the Ancientsis currently planned for release sometime in spring 2025. It’s currently unclear whether this will be the finalEverspace 2expansion. If theTitansDLC is any indication,Wrath of the Ancientswill be priced at around $14.99.
