Summary
Most people aren’t huge fans of the Buu Saga, considering it to be inferior to the other story arcs present inDragon Ball Z. However, that should take nothing away from Majin Buu’s intimidating presence. He was a villain who didn’t look all that intimidating, only for his transformations to blow fans away. Majin Buu was the last big villain ofDragon Ball Z, so it made sense that he would have multiple forms and be significantly more powerful than anything that had come before, despite his unusual appearance.
It’s easy to see why the Z Warriors struggled to take out this foe, withall of humanity and Earth itself being destroyed by this malicious foe. Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and the rest of the heroes had to pull out everything possible to take out the strongest foe inDragon Ball Zand ensure that the world would be at peace once again.
5Uub
The Human Reincarnation Of Kid Buu
After Goku obliterates Buu with his Spirit Bomb, he makes a wish for this villain to be reincarnated so he can fight his toughest foe once again. His wishes are answered years later when Goku and Uub face off in the World Martial Arts Tournament. While it may be a stretch to label Uub as one of Buu’s forms, one can’t deny his relation to the villain, especially since he’s meant to be a good reincarnation of this foe.
That being said, Uub looks nothing like Buu, appearing more like a scrawny human with limitless potential. While his powers expand inDragon Ball GT, he still plays second fiddle to Goku and the rest of the heroes in the series. He has also made a very brief appearance inDragon Ball Superas well.
4Evil Buu
A Skinny Version Of Buu That Harbors His Evil Side
After Majin Buu saw the error of his ways courtesy of Mr. Satan andturned over a new leaf, all the evil from this being was expunged to form Evil Buu after Majin Buu got angry about Mr. Satan being shot. At a glance, this version of Buu looked rather weak, but the fight that ensued showed just how much he outclassed the “good” Majin Buu despite his frail appearance.
He was able to beat his good counterpart to a pulp before absorbing him and transforming into Super Buu. Evil Buu’s appearance was a fleeting one that served as a precursor for the events to follow, which is perhaps why his character design paled in comparison to Buu’s other forms since Buu was not in this form for very long.
3Good Buu
A Pudgy, Lovable Character Who Joins The Z Fighters After Expunging The Evil Inside Him
One ofthe goofiest villains inDragon Ball Z, it’s easy to see why everyone wrote Majin Buu off when he appeared at the end of the Peaceful World Saga. This pudgy, pink monster had an unhealthy fascination with sweets and didn’t seem all that intimidating, only for powerful beings like Dabura and Vegeta to find out in no time why he’s such a force to be reckoned with. Even Babidi didn’t take Majin Buu seriously in this form, and this proved to be a fatal mistake for the wizard.
Still, that takes nothing away from his comical character design that made him more suited for a comic relief character, something that he ended up embodying in laterDragon Ballarcs. It’s a shame, but the original iteration of Majin Buu is still notable for his friendship with Mr. Satan and his deceptive strength.
2Kid Buu
Despite His Puny Size, This Is Buu’s Strongest Form
After all the people Super Buu had fused with were ripped away from him, most fans assumed that Buu would become weaker than ever before. This sentiment is something that seemed plausible, especially since the form that appeared after Super Buu’s transformation was smaller and scrawnier than before.
Instead, without the presence of Good Buu inside him, the presence of the Kais wasn’t inhibiting the villain’s strength anymore, resulting in Buu shifting back to what was his original form. This turned Kid Buu intothe strongest and most unhinged form of this villain, with his first act being the destruction of Earth in a shocking moment that proved to the Z Warriors and the Kais that their battle against this pink monster was far from over. Despite his looks, Kid Buu’s erratic attitude and incredible power made him a worthy final antagonist for Goku and his allies at the end ofDragon Ball Z.
1Super Buu
The Most Imposing Version Of Buu In Terms Of Character Design
Super Buu may not be the strongest form of this villain, but that should take nothing away from his intimidating character design. This was the look thatcemented Buu as a worthy villainthat the Z Warriors would have a tough time with. His obsession with candy was ever-present, but so was his lust for violence as he fought the Earth’s strongest warriors and relished these battles.
Even after being pushed against the ropes by his opponents, Super Buu was able to absorb his enemies and reach new heights of power. It wasn’t until Goku and Vegeta fused into Vegito that Super Buu finally met his match. Given how intimidating this character looked, fans wouldn’t have minded all that much if Buu remained in this form until the end, even if the advent of Kid Buu added another dangerous edge to this imposing foe.
