Fields of Mistria’s March 2025 update brings a host of exciting additions to the game, including a new biome in the Mines and more areas of the map to explore. You can now finally unlock and explore The Deep Woods, another part ofFields of Mistria’s map. However, there are a few things you need to do first before you can unlock and explore The Deep Woods.
You might also wonder where to find The Deep Woods and what things you may discover there once unlocked, including unique Deep Woods forageable items and fish. Unlocking The Deep Woods also opens the door to teleportation, enabling you to teleport straight to this part of the map.
Where To Find The Deep Woods In Fields Of Mistria
You can find the Deep Woodson the far right of the Eastern RoadsonFields of Mistria’s map. Head right from the middle of town and past the Carpenter’s Shop to find the entrance to the Deep Woods at the top of the Eastern Road, which isblocked by a wall of vines, as pictured above. However, there are a few steps to complete before you can gain a uniqueability to access The Deep Woods and other blocked areas of the map.
How To Unlock The Deep Woods In Fields Of Mistria
To unlock The Deep Woods inFields of Mistria, you must firstbreak the Fire Seal in the Minesto gain theDragon Breath Spell. This involves completing the following story quests once you reach level 60 in the Mines:
To complete the above quests, you also need to gather numerous resources to unlock the Fire Seal to get the powerful Dragon Breath Spell, which deals damage to enemies and unlocks specific, blocked areas of the map. After breaking the Fire Seal, head to The Deep Woodslocated north of the Eastern Road to the wall of vines blocking the way ahead. After assigning the Spell from your inventory, you canuse the Dragon Breath Spell to destroy the vinesandclear a path to The Deep Woodsmap area, as shown in the video below:
In addition to several mysterious dragon statues and grave markers, you’ll also findCaldarus' Templeon the top right of The Deep Woods map area. However, you’ll need at least acopper axe upgradeto break the large tree stumpblocking the path to reach this part of The Deep Woods. you may get a copper axe by crafting one at the smithing station using copper ore or buying one from the Blacksmith shop for 1,000 Tesserae. Breaking large tree stumps gives you Hard Wood for crafting, worth 15 Tesserae each.
Forageable Items & Fish In The Deep Woods
Once you’ve entered The Deep Woods through the tree archway, there are various Deep Woods forageables, fish, insects, and artifacts to discover. Some forageable items are also exclusive toFields of Mistria’s Deep Woods, likeSpirit Mushrooms, with five to find in any season to completeThe Deep Woods Forage Setat the Museum, as outlined in the table below:

It’s also possible to harvest forageables in The Deep Woods found in other areas of the map, such as Blueberries, Wild Berries, Daffodils, and Dandelions. You can also catch bugs inThe Deep Woods Insect Museum Setand unearth artifacts to completeTheDeep Woods Artifact Museum Set.
Deep Woods Fish
In addition to forageables and other finds, you’re able to also catchfive species of fish unique to The Deep Woods, which includesLake Trout, a common large Deep Woods fish found in all seasons and worth45 Tesserae. You must catch all five Deep Woods fish to completeTheDeep Woods Fish Setat the Museum. You can also find other fish species and items discoverable in other map areas, such as Snakehead, Tetra, and Catfish.
Tofast-travel to The Deep Woods, you canteleport between the Caldarus statue on your farm and Caldarus' Templeafter speaking with Caldarus in human form for the first time. To teleport to The Deep Woods, press ‘E’ next to the Caldarus statue on your farm and choose the teleport text option to fast-travel to Caldarus' Temple for thecost of 10 Essence, where you appear next to the small dragon statue inside the Temple. You can also use the same statue to teleport back to your farm for 10 Essence.
