Similar to Kraken Pool,Fischintroduces some tough puzzles to unlock the Scylla Pond. Players must complete two challenges to open the giant Calm Zone gate and access the fourth-layer fishing area. These include a Zeus Trial-style Obby and aPoseidon Temple-like fish placement puzzleon the Calm Zone gate podiums.
Since Scylla Pond is located in Veil of the Forsaken (the last area of Mariana’s Veil), you’ll need to solve a Chess Board puzzle and face the Scylla Boss, Hydra, to gain access to the pond and catch this massive sea monster. Here’s how to solve the Chess Board puzzle and defeat Hydra inFisch.
How to Complete the Scylla Boss Fight In Fisch
The Scylla Boss is a tough fight inFisch.This giant creature has four heads, unlike anything seen before in the game. Each head shoots fireballs, forcing players to dodge constantly while collecting crossbow pieces settled around the arena. You’ll need toassemble the crossbow within the 10-minute timerto end the battle. But to be able to do this, you must first solve the Chess Board puzzle to unlock the boss fight.
How To Solve The Chess Board Puzzle in Fisch
The Chess Board puzzle is located on the other side of the Calm Zone Giant Door inFisch. To reach it, you’ll need to drop Magma Leviathan, Frozen Leviathan, andCrowned Anglerfish on the correct Giant Gate podiums. Once the gate opens,head southacross the Rainbow River to find the puzzle. This riddle consists of four chess pieces, each resembling one of Hydra’s heads. To solve the Chess Board puzzle inFisch,push each chess piece straightuntil all turn green and a trapdoor opens ahead. Pushing the first piece will trigger a one-minute timer. Just position all pieces correctly within the time, or the puzzle resets. Some pieces may require multiple pushes before they glow green.
How To Beat Scylla Boss In Fisch
Once the trapdoor opens, jump in and wait a few minutes for your turn to fight Scylla Boss, Hydra. When the timer runs out, a cutscene will show your character entering the Forsaken Gate, and Hydra will show up, roaring with all four heads. To beat the Scylla Boss inFisch, run around the map andgather three Ancient Weapon Parts(press E key near each), thenplace them on the crossbow structureto finish the fight.

Once the crossbow is complete, a cutscene will trigger, showing Hydra’s defeat. Afterward, you’ll gain access to Scylla Pond and can start hunting this legendary sea monster.
