Summary
A recentGenshin Impactleak has discovered the release date of the upcoming Auto Chess game mode, with datamined information pointing towards Version 5.6. WhileGenshin Impacthas a core gameplay loop that focuses on building a team to explore a vast open world, the developers have frequently toyed with alternate game modes over the years. Genius Invokation TCG and the Serenitea Pot can both be considered an example of this.
Recently,Genshin Impactadded a new modecalled Repertoire of Myriad Melodies, allowing players to perform music tracks with a variety of instruments. This rhythm game appeared several times during Flagship Events inGenshin Impactbefore finally making its debut as a permanent game mode. Presumably, this will be the case with the upcoming Auto Chess activity as well.
According to KazusaLeaks, theAuto Chess game mode forGenshin Impactwill arrive in Version 5.6, which is slated to launch on May 14, 2025. This Auto Chess event will feature both PvP and PvE, as well as a progression system with currency, equipment, artifacts, and talents. While it remains to be seen how Auto Chess will connect to the core gameplay ofGenshin Impact, it’s most likely that the game mode will remain a separate bubble, not unlike Genius Invokation TCG.
Genshin Impact Leak Teases Auto Chess for Version 5.6
While not yet confirmed by HoYoverse, the Auto Chess activity will likely be designed around Liyue Millennial, the board game developed byNinnguang inGenshin Impact. A few iterations of Auto Chess have already made their way toGenshin Impactvia Flagship Events, with the most recent version being positively met by fans. Given that Exercise Surging Storm had a rather limited scope,Genshin Impactplayers should expect a permanent game mode to instead offer some type of long-term progression – once again taking cues from Genius Invokation TCG.
One thing that has come to define theNatlan era inGenshin Impactis a wide list of quality-of-life changes.Genshin Impacthas greatly improved on its core gameplay since the launch of Natlan, and even made a few notable concessions to its gacha system. On top of that, it continues to expand the endgame by investing in the Imaginarium Theater, steadily adding new Thespian Tricks and Envisaged Echoes. By introducing the Repertoire of Myriad Melodies and (presumably) Liyue Millennial to the game, the developers will certainly enrich the sandbox experience ofGenshin Impact’s open world. Version 5.6 is expected to be released on July 22, 2025.
