Battle Points (BP) are a type of experience inXenoblade Chronicles X, but unlike regular XP, BP is used to level up your Arts and Skills. Depending on your assigned Class, you’ll have different types of Arts/Skills each with their own levels. BP can be trickier to farm than XP due to the lower payout from leveling, completing Squad Missions, etc. Regardless, you should at least be spending your character’s BP to level up your desired Class' Arts/Skills beforeXenoblade Chronicles X’s postgame.

How to Get Battle Points (BP)
The most obvious way you’ll get BP is bylevelingandleveling your Class Rank, so make sure you’re fighting monsters around your level. While you progress the story, you may struggle to level as quickly as you did at the start, so you’ll want more ways to farm your Battle Points forenhancing your Arts and Skills.
Here are all methods to farm BP:
Treasure Boxes appear on the minimap as a small, golden square. Be on the lookout for them while you’re exploring Mira and activating FN Sites.

How Soon Should You Spend BP?
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionoffers an array of Classes you may set to your main character.Each Class has their own Skills and Arts, meaning you’ll be going through alotof BP if your goal is to upgrade as much as possible.
Your Arts are tied toweapon types. By fully mastering a Class Tree will enable you to use their respective weapons even if your current Class is of another Branch. This will allow you to use Arts you normally wouldn’t be able to based on your Class.
In addition to Arts, you have Skills. Different Classes have different Skill Slots (ex: some have three Skill Slots, some have two, etc.), so you’ll be limited tohow many Skills you may equip. However, unlike Arts, Skills are added permanently once they are learned. Meaning if you wanted to add the Buff Heal Skill to your Commando Class, you can do so after you’ve unlocked said Skill through the Enforcer Class.
Determining Which Arts/Skills to Upgrade
You should create a build thatfits your combat styleor theClass you’ll be playing as the most. Generally, you’ll want to upgrade Arts that inflict stagger or topple, such as Blossom Dance (weapon: Longsword). You should also take an Art’seffectsinto consideration before dumping all your BP into upgrading it.
Given the variety of Classes and their respective Skills, you should only upgrade Skills thatbenefit your assigned/main Class. If you find yourself using weapons like the saber or using Arts primarily in healing, then you should upgradeBuff Heal.
It also won’t hurt you to upgrade an Art/Skill or two for whichever Class you’re trying to rank up.
