How to Get the Hunting Spear in Sea of Thieves
Unfortunately, you cannot equip the Hunting Spear from the Armory on your ship, so it must be brought or discovered elsewhere. To get a Hunting Spear inSea of Thieves, you only need tovisit the Hunter’s Call Representativeat any Outpost or Seapost, where you may buy them from theHunter’s Call Company Shopin the Resources menu.
It costs250 goldfor one Hunting Spear, or you’re able to buy a maximum of five at each Outpost or Seapost, with a cooldown in place before each Company Shop restocks. However, you can only pick up and carry one Hunting Spear at a time, so you’ll need to buy and transport each one to your ship individually.

How to Throw the Hunting Spear
You can throw the Hunting Spear at other players, PVE enemies, and certain wild creatures and sea monsters, including the Kraken, Sharks, andall types of Megalodons inSea of Thieves, such as the Feared Redmaw and Barnacled Dread. It’s also possible to throw the Hunting Spear at long and short distances, giving you plenty of choice as to how you want to use it.
To throw the Hunting Spear at another player or PVE enemy inSea of Thieves, hold down the left trigger to raise and aim it (if playing on Xbox) and press the right trigger to throw it, as pictured above. you may also hold down the right trigger to charge up and throw the Hunting Spear further when released.
Throwing a Hunting Spear at a charging Megalodon inSea of Thievescan also stop it in its tracks before it takes a bite out of your ship and even defeat a shark in a single shot when charged up. The Hunting Spear also gets stuck inside solid surfaces such as wooden structures in the environment. Similar to whenusing Throwing Knives inSea of Thieves, other players can also pick up a Hunting Spear you’ve thrown and use it against you.
If you hit another player with the Hunting Spear, you’re able to deal approximately 75 damage, but it will disappear on contact. If you miss your shot, you can pick up the Hunting Spear to try again.
Shooting the Hunting Spear from Cannons
In addition to throwing Hunting Spears, you can load them into cannons to pierce holes in other ships when fired. It also gives enemy players more work to do, as they must pull the Spear out of the hole it makes before they can begin to repair it.
Pulling the Spear out also makes a bigger hole that lets in more water, adding to the overall repair time, so shooting them from cannons can be an effective strategy in naval combat. Firing a Hunting Spear from a cannon also boosts its power, enabling you to dish out more damage and even one-shot-kill certain enemies, such as when firing at enemies on land from your ship.
