Monster Hunter Wildshas a lot of armor types to choose from, with most of them being derived from the monsters you hunt throughout the game. While a lot of this gear will be good for the base game, you’ll want to startupgrading your armortowards the end of the game, especially in the endgame content.
Upgrading your gear revolves aroundArmor Spheres, which will become something you’ll constantly need to farm for. Here’s how to get armor spheres and the best method for getting them long-term.
How To Get Armor Spheres In Monster Hunter Wilds
The two main methods for getting Armor Spheres are:
You’ll get a few Armor Spheres as you progress through the main game, though it probably won’t be enough to upgrade multiple gear pieces. Completing optional hunts will notonly give you a few Armor Spheres but also give you monster dropsthat can then be taken to the forge and smelted down into Armor Spheres.
The quality of the monster material will make getting Armor Spheres much easier, so always hunt the strongest monsters you can easily take down. Try to pick a monster that you know the moveset for well andbuild your character around countering their elemental attacks and weaknesses. Using the Forge just requires a lot of any monster drops, so farming one specific monster can be very efficient if you get your time tokill or capturedown.
How To Use The Forge In Monster Hunter Wilds
The Forge will unlock after completing thefight against the Black Flameduring chapter 2. After that, theSmelting Foundry will be marked on the map in the Base Camp of Oilwell Basin, and you can come here whenever you want to get rid of old monster materials and turn them into Armor Spheres.
At the Foundry, select the “Smelt Armor Spheres” option to then choose which kind of Armor Sphere you want to craft. Thenumber of points it costs to craft that type of sphere refers to how many monster material points you’ll have to destroyin order to get one Sphere. In the next menu, you’ll see a list of all the monster materials you currently have, along with how many points each one is worth.
Along the left side of the screen, you’ll seehow many points you’ll need to make an Armor Sphere, and from here you’ll choose what materials you want to break down into Armor Spheres. After crafting the initial armor piece to the highest tier, you won’t need any more of these monster drops to upgrade it further, making Armor Spheres much more valuable. Feel free to break down everything you have especiallyinto the endgameafter you’ve crafted everything you need.
Hitting wounds on monsters and breaking them will result in more drops that can be smelted down.
