There are a number of secret armor sets inMonster Hunter Wildsthat only become craftable once players find their core crafting materials. Sinister Cloth is a good example of the latter, and it’s for making one of the coolest-looking sets in the series.
Much like in previous games, Sinister Cloth can’t be obtained just by simply hunting monsters orbreaking off monster parts like Nerscylla Claws. The process of getting this secret material is simple, but it also easy to overlook.
Where to Get Sinister Cloth in Monster Hunter Wilds
Sinister Clothis a special type of crafting material that cannot be obtained from gathering points, monsters, or even quests. Instead, players have two ways to get Sinister Cloth: ask help from a Village Intermediary, or trade with NPCs.
Village Intermediaries
A Village Intermediary is an NPC who will passively gather materials and resources for players. They replace the old Ancient Tree and Tailrider Safari features ofthe previousMonster Huntergames, and if you’re looking for items for medicine or materials for capturing monsters inMonster Hunter Wilds, these guys are your best source.
Murtabak in Kunafahas a chance to find Sinister Cloth when he goes out on expeditions. He’ll offer you his services once you complete the Continuing Conflict side quest. The odds are rather low, however.
Trading
Gawdygogis one of the traders in the Wudwud Hideout in the Scarlet Forest. What sets him apart from the others is that all he’ll ever ask for areAncient Wyvern Coin, a type of Rare Special Item.
Gawdygog will ask for tens of these coins at a time. Luckily, there’s a way tofarm an infinite amount of Ancient Wyvern Coins. Keep in mind that NPC trader offers change every so often, so attempt to visit Gawdygog or speak with Nata to check if he has any Sinister Cloth in his inventory.
Kilama from Kunafa also offers Sinister Cloth on rare occasions. However, she’ll ask for Special Items like Windward Aloe in exchange.
you may force trader inventories to change by using the Rest option in your tent.
