Itinerant Merchants selling GoldandSide Quests with rewardslike this precious material can be found by scouting the cities and sometimes even wandering across the world. So pay attention to everyNPC with a Dialogue bubbleover their heads.
Gold doesn’t always drop from enemies or chests, so the best possible way to get gold is to look for Contracts and Quests that guarantee this material as a reward.
So first, let’s take a look at how Contract and Quests (Objectives) work inAssassin’s Creed Shadows, and how players can use them to get their hands on more Gold to upgrade their Legendary Armor.
Completing Contracts & Objectives
Inside the hideout, players can find theContract room, where new secondary objectives arrive with each passingSeason. Finishing these up will sometimes award players Gold, which is indicated in the rewards upon selecting the contracts.
Pay special attention to them, as they are constantly renewed throughout the adventure, and they’re a good source ofcrafting materials, Hideout Resources, and of course, Gold.
As mentioned before, some NPCs that are hidden around the map will sometimes have special quests/side quests that also award Gold as part of their rewards.
Killing Elites, Wandering Ronin, And Samurai Daishō
Elite Enemieswill sometimes drop items including gear, gold,Mon, and other valuables. Most of the time, these enemies are present in Enemy Camps, Strongholds, and Castles, but killing them won’t be easy, as they have more life and armor than regular enemies, and can kill players with a few blows, so watch out for their Heavy Attacks.
Wandering Roninare part of the Kabukimono criminal organization, and they will be traveling around certain cities, (like Osaka and Sekki) and are marked as Elite Enemies, but they’re much stronger and harder to kill. Plus, they’re often accompanied by a cohort of other Samurai that will attempt to murder players as soon as they approach their boss, so watch out for them. Killing Wandering Ronin has a chance to drop valuables andgold as well.
Finally,Samurai Daishōare present in every Fortress or Castle, and upon killing them, Naoe or Yasuke will gain Mastery Points, and they have a chance to get Gold from them as well. Plus, killing the Daishō will unlock the location Chest that often contains Legendary Gear, so they’re the best way to getgood gear and upgrade materials.
Completing Shadows Project Weekly Quests
Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas aSeason Pass(sort of)called Project Shadows, and certain objectives, achievements, quests, and generally progressing through the adventure will allow players to level it up and claim many rewards.
Among those rewards arespecial Legendary Weapons and armor, an in-game currency, Cosmetic Gear, and most importantly:Gold. There are a few of these rewards up for grabs if players want to really get into it, but if they need a reason for completing the season pass, the extra upgrade materials to enhance their Legendary armor should be enough.
To get moreData Fragmentsto unlock the Gold rewards in theAnimus Exchange, players should search the mapfor ‘Anomalies,’ which can be solved to get that currency and unlock more rewards in this season-pass-like system. All of them can be accessed through the Animus Hub, so keep a close eye on those rewards.
Looted From Enemy Camp Chests
While playing AC Shadows, players will eventually transition into higher-difficulty areas, where enemies become naturally stronger, and some enemy camps award even better loot and gear.
When scouring through enemy camps and castles, players will often come uponspecial chestscontaining valuable materials, and Gold is among the things that might be hidden inside those containers.
It is important to mention that Region Chestscontaining Legendary Geardo not have gold inside, and these do not refresh once the seasons pass. But, the good thing is these locations can be farmed, since chests respawn every season, giving players a chance to get their hands on valuable gear and extra chances to get more gold.
