Nine Lives Walkthrough

A cat named Aisha is missing, and it’s up to you to find her. After picking up the quest, head to the Administrative District. Outside of the Hangar near a green tent, you will see Conner, Nathan, and Monica. Talk to them to get information about a cat. From there, go to the Industrial District and speak with Mathias. Afterthe cutscene, go to the Cliffside Beach which is east of FN Site 116.

Approach the monster, kill it to trigger a cutscene. Go northwest toward Biahno Hills (or Fast Travel if you’ve unlocked a nearby landmark or FN Site). In this area, pick up any blue crystal that has the orange diamond above it to gather the catnip. Once you’ve gathered enough catnip, head back to Cliffside Beach and talk to Mathias. After another cutscene, you will fight another monster lured in by the trap intended for Aisha. To complete this quest, head back to New LA and talk to Mathias one last time.

This unlocks the ability to have pets at the BLADE Barracks. Only one pet can be active at any given time. To change which pet is at the BLADE Barracks, use the Customization Center terminal. From this point on, you will periodically see Basic Missions that unlock additional pets.

What Are Pets For?

Your active pet can be found hanging out in the BLADE Barracks, but they aren’t just a cosmetic decoration. In fact, there are quite a few affinity missions that cannot be started unless you have an active pet. For example, Lao’s firstaffinity missionrequires you to have a dog in the BLADE Barracks while Elma’s second affinity mission requires a cat. Beyond decoration and being required for affinity missions, pets provide no other benefit.
