Battling monster mobs and bosses inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionwill be impossible to defeat if you don’t learn how to heal during combat. The gameplay mechanics are different from theXenoblade Chroniclestrilogy, but once you master them, you shouldn’t have a problem. Your primary method of healing inXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionwill be through Soul Voices and Soul Challenges. However, you’ll unlock regular healing arts by leveling certain Classes.
Healing in Battle
Soul Challenge and Soul Voice Prompts
When you initiate combat, you’ll sometimes see a QTE appear on your screen. This is aSoul Challenge. You’ll want to press theB-buttonright as thewhite ring aligns with the bright orange ringin the Soul Challenge circle. If you’re successful and geta good or perfect rank, you’ll restore some HP.
Triggering Soul Challenges will initiate aSoul Voiceprompt that your allies can respond to by using the proper art. Your allies can alsouse Soul Voice Prompts, and choosing thecorresponding artwill net you some recovery points.
Only the main charactercan initiate Soul Challenges. You also cannot chose the type of Soul Voice Prompt that appears, so you should save your arts for when the timing is right.
Other Ways to Recover HP
Of course, Soul Challenges and Soul Prompts are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to healing during battle. They are your most common and reliable way of HP recovery, but you shouldn’t neglect your buff arts and skills.
InXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, you have several types of arts. Two of these have HP-restoring powers:
When you unlockClasses, you’ll be able to change the types of weapons you use and learn different arts that you wouldn’t be able to learn as a Drifter (starting Class). Certain Classes have more HP-recovery arts and skills than others. You can view thetypes of arts for each Classin the menu under Party.
Removes debuff and restores HP to a chosen party member.
Aura
Striker
Reduces damage taken, restores HP over time, and lowers melee attack.
Buff
Partisan Eagle
Restores HP when an art is used, reflects an enemy’s electric attacks, and boosts Critical Chance.
Continually restores HP and boosts damage of auto-attacks.
Nullifies terrain damage, continually restores HP, and boosts Beam Resistance.
Galactic Knight
Restores HP of a chosen party member or Skell appendage. Requires TP to use. If you have the Astral Horizon aura active, then Astral Heal’s effect will extend to all party members/Skells.
Boosts all Attribute Resistances and restores HP when using an art.
These HP-recovery arts are signature arts and can only be used by their respective owners:
Titan Recharge
Frye
Nullifies reflected attack damage, restores HP when Aura expires, and shortens arts' secondary cooldown time.
Overclock
Alexa
Restores HP when art is used, boosts fuel recovery of parked Skells.
Smooth Recovery
Irina
Restores HP and Evasion Up to party members within a radius.
Blood Carnival
Full Metal Jaguar
Melee auto attacks will sometimes restore HP based on the damage done.
Lifeline
Winged Viper
Recover HP when using an Aura when your current HP is below 50%.
Buff Heal
Enforcer
Restores HP (amount depends on art level) when receiving a buff.
How to Revive Allies
How to Increase Tension Points (TP)
Reviving allies can be done if you have3000 TP(Tension Points). Likewise, allies can reviveyouiftheyhave 3000 TP. If you have 3000 TP, approach a fallen ally andhold down the A-buttonto revive them. If you don’t have enough TP, the prompt won’t appear.
Like with Soul Challenges, reviving an ally will trigger a QTE. You want to press B-button when thewhite circle overlaps the bright green. Your ranking determines how many HP They recover upon being revived:
You’ll gain TP in battle through auto-attacks, QTEs (Soul Challenges and Soul Voice Prompts), and using Arts. you’re able to alsowear TP-enhancing equipmentto make TP “farming” easier.
Keep in mind that some arts require TP to use. These will have the TP initials on their respective icons.
