If players focus on the main story, they will travel to two other regions, locking them out of the previous region’s missions. However, nothing is set in stone, and traveling back in time to a different area is possible inRise of the Ronin. Players can use this guide to learnhow to travel between regions.
How to Travel Between Regions in Rise of the Ronin
The first region that players explore inRise of the Roninis Yokohama. Yokohama is made up of 20 areas, and there are plenty ofside missions and interactionsto complete. Chapter One of the main story also takes place in Yokohama, and players will be caught between two powerful parties.
Regardless ofwhich side they’re on, players go to the Edo Region during the chapter. They will lose access to unfinished missions and missed areas in Yokohama when they go to Edo. Luckily, players will get the opportunity to travel back to Yokohama and finish anything they need to.
After going to Edo, players will learn aboutthe Testament of the Soul. The Testament of the Soul is a special book that gives players the power to return to other regions. Traveling between areas inRise of the Roninworks slightly differently than most travel systems. Rather than simply going to another place, players will go back in time and can redo any missions or tie up loose ends.
The story can be changed as actions from the past affect the present. So, if players don’t like theoutcome of their decisions, they can do things differently the second time. Then they can return to the present and continue in the next region in two ways. Players can use the Testament of the Soul at their Longhouse in Yokohama.
Players can also open the System Menu and select “Return to your time” to go between regions.
Edo is added to the Testament of the Soul when players move on to Kyoto later in the main story. Redoing missions is a great way to earn XP and get new rewards. Players don’t lose any of their stats when they go back in time and can take on more difficult missions.
The Testament of the Soul is divided into three sections: Ronin Missions,Bond Missions, and Areas. Players can complete all the different outcomes for each one, so they won’t miss out on any trophies and rewards as they progress throughRise of the Ronin.
