Players will be able to recruit Heiji in one of the early quests called “Ways of the Blacksmith” inAssassin’s Creed Shadows. Players will need to head to the Village of Sakai and go east of the port area to find a group of thugs threatening a man. After taking care of the thugs, talk to the man who’ll reveal himself to be Heiji the Blacksmith.
After talking to Heiji, he’ll be convinced to join the cause and head to the Hideout. Next, you’ll need to fast travel there to progress the quest.
Build a Forge in the Hideout
After reaching the Hideout, Naoe will need toenter Build mode and create a Forgebuilding. Once the Forge is created, a cutscene will play showing Naoe and Heiji talking to Tomiko.
Once the cutscene is over, it will mark the Ways of the Blacksmith quest as complete. Now, players can simply head to the Forge and talk to Heiji, who’ll gladly upgrade all their gear. Make sure you have enough crafting materials to successfully upgrade gear inAssassin’s Creed Shadows.
