Iansan finally debuts as a playable character inGenshin Impact’s version 5.5, bringing her unique abilities as a support to the forefront. Known for her critical role in the Natlan storyline arc, she is also quite useful with her gameplay kit, providing exceptional ATK buffs to teammates, making her a valuable addition to many team compositions. While her playstyle drawscomparisons to characters like Bennettand Shenhe with ATK buff being tied to Elemental Burst, she introduces distinct mechanics. Unlike Bennett, whose buffs are limited to a circular area, Iansan requires high team mobility and effectivemanagement of her Nightsoul mechanicto maximize her support potential.
Similar to Shenhe, Iansan’s ATK buffs scale with her total ATK rather than her base ATK, so players must focus on optimizing her total ATK through weapon and artifact choices. While this requires some attention to detail, her overall build is relatively straightforward for players who understand her mechanics. With the right setup, Iansan can provide powerful, consistent team support, cementing her role as an accessible yet impactful character inGenshin Impact.
Iansan Best Artifact In Genshin Impact
For Iansan, theScroll of the Hero of Cinder Citystands out as the top artifact set due to its synergy with her mechanics as an off-field Natlan character. This set is ideal because it not only allows her to gain extra energy through its 2-piece set bonus, but it can also increase the team’s Elemental DMG by up to 40%. Since Iansan requires a high Nightsoul uptime, players can, in theory, keep this buff active consistently, maximizing its benefits.
If another team member is better suited to using this set,Noblesse Obligeoffers a reliable alternative for Iansan. The 2-piece bonus increases her Elemental Burst DMG, while the 4-piece bonus provides an ATK boost to the entire team after using her Elemental Burst. This synergizes well with Iansan’s role as a support character, further enhancing the team’s overall ATK. However, it’s important to note that Noblesse Oblige’s 4-piece effect does not stack. If another team member is alreadyequipped with Noblesse Oblige, equipping the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City on Iansan—or focusing on other specialized artifacts—would be a better option to diversify buffs across the team.
The ideal main and sub-stats for Iansan heavily depend on the team composition, her weapon, and whether she has access to her constellations. Generally, players will need around2500 ATKto maximize the buff provided by her level 10 Elemental Burst. For those with her C5, which allows her Elemental Burst talent to reach level 13, the required ATK to fully capitalize on her buff increases to3000.
Iansan also typically has a high Energy Recharge (ER) requirement, usually between150–200% ER, although this can be significantly reduced with C1, double Electro setups, or teams with strong battery capabilities. As long as players meet these thresholds, they can decide whether to use ER Sands or ATK Sands, and even consider an ATK% Circlet or Crit Rate/DMG for added damage potential (or to more consistently proc weapons like Favonius Lance). For the Goblet piece, going for ATK% will be a better option over Elemental DMG (Electro).
Sub-stats should prioritizeEnergy Recharge,ATK%,andCrit Valuesto improve her consistency. This not only ensures smoother rotations and some level of sub-DPS utility but also allows her to generate Energy particles more effectively, if players are Favonius Lance.
Iansan Best Weapon In Genshin Impact
When selecting the best weapons for Iansan, prioritizing those that enhance her total ATK and Energy Recharge is essential for maximizing her support capabilities. Here’s how the listed weapons rank:
At the top of the list is theCalamity Queller, originallyShenhe’s best-in-slot weapon, which also suits Iansan exceptionally well for similar reasons. It provides an enormous base ATK and a passive that further increases ATK after using an Elemental Skill, making it highly synergistic with Iansan’s ATK-scaling buffs. The Calamity Queller excels at ensuring Iansan reaches the high ATK thresholds required for her Elemental Burst buffs, however, will not provide any ER, which means players will need to focus heavily on this with the artifacts, or obtain her C1.
Second best option is theEngulfing Lightning, which isRaiden Shogun’s signature weapon. It offers substantial Energy Recharge as a secondary stat and converts a portion of that Energy Recharge into additional ATK, which perfectly complements Iansan’s high Energy needs while also boosting her overall ATK for stronger buffs. The weapon effectively balances her energy management with her damage potential, making it a versatile and powerful choice.
For a 4-star option, theTamayuratei No Ohanashistands out as the best entirely F2P weapon. It provides Energy Recharge as its secondary stat and includes additional ATK in its passive, as well as a boost to movement speed, which ties into Iansan’s mechanics of maintaining high team mobility to some extend. While its main and secondary stats overlaps with theFavonius Lance, the difference lies in their focus: Favonius Lance prioritizes higher Energy Recharge, making it a better choice if Iansan’s Energy Recharge requirements aren’t fully met through artifacts. Ultimately, the choice between these two weapons depends on the current ATK and ER ratios obtained through artifacts.
Lastly, theSkyward Spinecan serve as a decent stat stick when better options aren’t available. It boasts a high base ATK and a secondary stat providing Energy Recharge. However, its passive ability is less relevant for Iansan, as it doesn’t directly support her role or mechanics. Overall, Iansan isn’t so reliant on having 5-star premium options as she can reach the required ATK / ER caps with options likeTamayuratei No Ohanashior Favonius Lance, however if players have them laying around, they will prove to be quite useful.
