Summary
TheInvincibleseries of comics has a diverse roster of superpowered characters, each with a unique set of powers and abilities. Omni Man, or Nolan Greyson is introduced as one of the most powerful characters. As an Elite Viltrumite, he is one of the series' most capable warriors, admired both for his leadership as well as combat prowess.
Robert Kirkman, the series creator, has gone out of his way to create an impressively balanced power scale for the series, where many characters are capable of defeating each other, using strategy and wit, if not through sheer power. And Omni Man is no exception to this rule either. There are quite a few characters that can defeat him, with some surpassing him in strength as the series progresses, while other stronger characters are introduced later.
8Grand Regent Thragg
The Ruthless Leader of Viltrumites Can Easily Defeat Omni Man
Thragg is the Grand Regent of the Viltrumites and was born and bred for military command as the most powerful Viltrumite. Not only is he a ruthless leader, but he’s also an efficient and capable killing machine that can strike down nearly anyone who faces him with relative ease.Thragg is the series' main villain, and it will take Invincible a long time to catch up to him in terms of strength.
He’s so powerful that he can dismember an Omni-Man who is trying his best to harm him. There are multiple instances in the comics where Omni-Man fights Thragg but is no match for him in terms of combat ability and raw strength.
7Invincible
Omni-Man’s Son Eventually Surpasses Him in Terms of Power
It may not seem like it now, but Invincible becomes a lot stronger than Omni-Man as the comics progress. Naturally, he’s being set up to face Thragg at the end of the series, Just like Goku does in theDragon Ballseries, Invincible gains some significant power-ups in the story.
By the end of the series, Mark Grayson is by far the strongest character. His Human-Viltrumite genesgive him Viltrumite strength and resilience and combine these traits with the added bonuses a regular human receives from Adrenaline, making him a formidable leader and powerful opponent. Regardless, it does take him quite a while to surpass Omni-Man, but he gets there.
6Battle Beast
The Ferocious Feline Can Go Toe to Toe With the Strongest Viltrumites
Battle Beast was introduced inInvincibleSeason 1 as a Mercenary hired by local crime lord Machine Head. Ironically, he happens to beone of the strongest charactersin the series. His entire deal is that he was a powerful warrior that liberated his home planet from evil rulers and criminals and he’s been cursed with an insatiable thirst for battle.
He goes on to liberate many planets and has a name as a fierce warrior across the galaxy. He’s constantly in search of a foe capable of defeating him in battle, which is why the idea of facing Viltrumites gets him going. In fact, he’s so strong that he can even go toe to toe with Thragg and give him a run for his money. Needless to say, he’s far stronger than Omni-Man
5Allen the Alien
His Zenkai Boosts Give Him Significant Power-Ups
Allen the Alien, when he’s introduced is considerably weaker than Omni-Man, who implies he has comfortably defeated Allen in the past. He’s also confident that Invincible can defeat Allen early on in the series. But he has a trick up his sleeve that makes him significantly stronger as the series progresses and puts him in league with the strongest characters overall. He gets stronger every time he survives a near-death encounter.
And that makes his biology exactly like the Saiyans from theDragon Ballseries. Allen goes on toreceive a few of these power-upsthroughout the series and by the end, the only person alive who is stronger than him is Invincible. He is also capable of comfortably defeating Omni-Man midway through the comics.
4Conquest
The Most Sadistic Viltrumite Can Certainly Defeat Omni-Man
Conquest is largely considered the “second strongest Viltrumite”. This comes down to his claim that all other Viltrumites are scared of him. He’s considered ruthless and sadistic even by the standards of conventional Viltrumites and enjoys inflicting pain on his opponents.
He fights Invincible twicein the comics and both times, it appears he’s beyond his league in terms of power and combat ability. It takes sheer power of will to defeat him, and he states that Invincible is “nearly as strong as his father” the second time, implying Conquest is fairly capable of defeating Omni-Man.
3Space Racer
The Infinity Ray Makes Him a Formidable Opponent For Any Viltrumite
Space Racer is an interesting character when it comes to power scaling in theInvincibleseries. This is mainly because, on his own, he’s really not that strong. What makes him a formidable opponent to Omni-Man, or any other Viltrumite for that matter is his gun, the Infinity Ray. It can instantly kill anyone it hits. In fact, it’s strong enough to blow a hole into a planet’s core.
In his novels, Omni-Man refers to Space Racer’s gun as one of the means to defeat the Viltrumites. He fights Space Racer himself and only comes out on top because he outwits him. So Space Racer can defeat Omni-Man with the caveat that he actually hits him with the Infinity Ray.
2Atom Eve
With Her Limiters Removed, She’s The Strongest Character in the Series
Atom Eve in general is a character who has limitless potential when it comes to her powers. Even without her powers being suppressed, she frustrated Conquest more than Invincible managed with raw strength. She’s a character whose powers rely on her own creativity, and while she is quite creative with them most times, she is still a glass cannon that can fall apart if caught.
Butshe also has a trick up her sleevethat makes her arguably the strongest character in theInvincibleseries. When she’s going through significant trauma, or on the verge of death, she unlocks all her powers, and the restrictions on her brain are lifted. In this state, she can even control and alter the biological properties of others around her and of herself. She nearly destroys Conquest with a single beam in this state.
1The First Guardians of the Globe
When Working Together, They’re Capable of Defeating Omni-Man
The series begins with Omni-Man killing all the members of the original Guardians of the Globe. They’re mostly inspired by the DC’sJustice League.Individually, none of them are strong enough to defeat Omni-Man butthey are capable of defeating himwhen they’re working together and are not taken by surprise.
When Omni-Man ambushes them, they’re caught off-guard but are able to land strong enough blows on him to nearly kill him when they work together. If they weren’t caught off-guard, the argument could be made that they would have defeated him easily, and the comics go on to demonstrate this in an upcoming story arc.
