Like most of the games that came before it,Assassin’s Creed Shadowsfeatures fall damage. Giventhe series' love of high placesand how much time players spend climbing, some may see its inclusion as a huge negative, although it’s very rarely an issue once players understand how it works.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows' fall damage is easy enough to avoid, but even if players do find themselves taking damage from falling, it needn’t be a huge deal. Damage taken through falling will usually regenerate after a second or two, although there are a few situations where this won’t be the case.
Can You Die from Fall Damage in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Although players will take damage from falling from above a certain height, there aren’t too many structures that are tall enough to completely killYasuke and Naoethrough fall damage alone. As such, players can take advantage of the fact thatAssassin’s Creed Shadows’fall damage usually regenerates after a few seconds, after which, they can continue on their merry way. This isn’t always the case though.
Fall damage will not regenerate when players are engaged in active combat; either before or after the fall. As such, when using fast travel points in castles and forts (or any other hostile area, really), players should be mindful of where they’re falling down to and be sure that there aren’t enemies patrolling there, as if there are, and they get spotted, they could find themselves in a spot of bother.
How to Avoid Taking Fall Damage in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Unless players know that there’s water or a pile of hay beneath the spot that they’re jumping from, it’s usually better tolower Naoe or Yasuke down graduallyto avoid taking too much damage. They can do this by using the dodge button (Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox) to climb down gradually rather than jumping headfirst.
Alternatively, players canunlock Naoe’s Igan Roll Shinobi skilland then press the dodge button whenever they land to perform a roll. Initially, this will only negate some fall damage, butupgrading Igan Roll to Ninja Fall will cancel out all fall damage when a roll is successfully executed.
Players will unlock the Sometimes Trophy / Achievement the first time they perform a landing roll.
