Summary

Assassin’s Creed Shadowshastons of items and weaponsthat players can pick up as they roam around the Sengoku period Japan, and some of these items can be quite valuable. But the problem begins when players need to make some extra Mon, and start thinking about selling resources and mats.

Players might feel the need to sell them right away, but hold the thought for a moment, and check this list of all the things you should never sell to vendors in AC Shadows. You might never know the usefulness of an item or material until it’s too late, and the game has no buyback option.

Gold AC Shadows

Gold

Extremely Valuable, Never Sell This

Gold is one of the rarest Materials players can find in the game anda valuable asset to improving Legendary Gear. This Legendary resource is quite difficult to obtain in large quantities and requires players to complete Missions and secondary objectives to get a few of them.

It is also possible toobtain them by killing certain enemieslike Samurai Daisho and Ronin, so players will have to scrap tons of gear to save enough for upgrades. Players should use them wisely and never sell them to vendors, as it is not possible to buy them back. Plus, since Mon is abundant in the game, there’s no valid reason to surrender such precious resources in exchange for regular currency.

Iron Sand AC Shadows

Iron Sand

Greatly Underestimated, But You’ll Miss It If It’s Gone

Iron Sand might be a regular resource for improving weapons, but players shouldn’t underestimate the need for it under any circumstances. It might seem like a good idea to sell their excess of this material to vendors but think twice: as weapons grow in power, so does their cost in materials.

Players will need Iron Sand to keep leveling weapons throughout the adventure, so selling it to merchants is a bad idea. More so with the Assassin’s Creed Shadows season system, which makes it a little bit tricky to track down mats respawning throughout the map.

Silk AC Shadows

Silk

A Valuable Resource, Better Hoard Lots Of It

Talismans are one ofthe rarest pieces of gearthat players will come across, and to improve them, they will need Silk in loads. There are few chances to get large quantities of SIlk, except by destroying other Talismans and grinding lots of them to take them back to the smith in the Hideout.

So, if players are thinking of getting rid of these precious materials for a few Mon, they should think again as they might never have another chance to get their hands on a steady supply of Silk.

Hemp Cloth AC Shadows

Hemp Cloth

The Late Game Demands Tons Of This, Don’t Sell It

Hemp Cloth is a material required to increase the level of Armor items in the Forge (Hideout)once players manage to upgrade it, and its required more and more as players progress through the game. Hemp can also be obtained by recycling Armor in the Forge, but as much as players try, they will never get enough of it early during the adventure.

Farming Hemp Cloth requires being constant and looting lots of chests in enemy camps, castles, and fortresses. Of course, if players feel the need for money, they can sell it to vendors, but it’s not a good idea, since upgrading an item past level 20 requires insane amounts of it.

Hideout Resources AC Shadows

Hideout Resources

The Way To Improve Your Base, Don’t Sell These

Players diving intoAssassin’s Creed Shadowswill soon find out about the new mechanic introduced in thisACgame which involves building structures and upgrading them to unlock bonuses, crafting stations, and scouts to help Naoe with her revenge.

Hideout Resources are far too precious to be sold around, and getting a load of them requires players to put some of their Scouts to work throughout a whole season, or to loot tons of enemy camps. So, selling them to traders is a really bad idea, more so if we keep in mind that upgrading a single building to level 2 might require hundreds of these resources.

Weapon Recycling AC Shadows Forge Hideout

Weapons

Sell It Only If There’s No Other Option To Earn Mon

Selling old weapons might seem like a good idea at first: it yields extra Mon and prevents hoarding. But, there’s a better thing to do with old weapons that will yield valuable resources that players need: recycling at the forge.

Once players have unlocked this feature, they can go and talk to the smith in the hideout, and breakdown old weapons into crafting materials they need to upgrade others.

Armor Recycling AC Shadows Forge Hideout

Armor

Better To Recycle Than To Sell

As players level up, they will find quite a lot of useful gear they can use to replace their old starting armor. But as they play and sweep entire enemy camps, they will start to pile up. So, then, should players sell their old armor to vendors?

The answer is simple: no. Instead, use the recycling feature at the forge to get extra materials from the gear and put it up to use by upgrading Legendary Armor, which requires tons of mats to level up.
