Summary
Assassin’s Creed Shadowsplayers might be scratching their heads mid-game trying to figure out what to do with all the itemsthey can loot from enemy Castles. At some point, it starts to accumulate and it’s annoying to browse through all the things that Naoe or Yasuke carry in their inventories, so the questions are: What to sell, and what not?
This list spotlights the 4 kinds of items players should always sell to vendors. Not only to gain some extra Mon, but because prolonged hoarding can have a negative impact on the late-game experience.
4Excess Regular Mats
Having Tons Of Mats Is Good, But Beyond 3K Is A Waste
There are times whenMats are necessary and should not be sold, but that ceases to be the case once a player hits level 30+ and is in the later mid-game zone. They will need tons of Mon to procure some of the best upgrades for their Hideouts and to level up their weapons and armor.
So, any material past the 3000k value, except for Hideout Resources and Gold (which should never be sold), can be safely sold to vendors in exchange for lots of Mon (money). Remember that past level 30 will start to snowball the amount of mats players need to upgrade their items (100-120-140+), so it would be a good idea to preserve a certain amount of them and not sell everything.
3Valuables
Sell These ASAP
Valuables are items that have absolutely no utility except being sold to merchants for Mon. These can come in many shapes and qualities (from white to purple/yellow) which also determines its total value.
These items tend to accumulate naturally as players loot chests, resource caches, and enemies like Ronin and Samurai Daisho. Since players need Mon (money) to purchase expensive items in the late game, like, for example, Gold, Valuables must be sold regularly. The ideal is to run to a vendor every 2-3 Side Objectives or, after completing one major mission, to avoid hoarding them.
2White And Green Weapons
No Need To Hoard Them, Sell Or Scrap For Mats
Don’t fall in love with Naoe’s old Katana or Yasuke’s basic gear since there are tons of different types of weapons from Epic to Legendary waiting to be discovered while playingAssassin’s Creed Shadows. Some Blue Quality weapons also hold special attributes, particularly those dropped fromcertain enemies like the Kabukimono.
So, there’s no point in hoarding white and green quality weapons, which most of the time cannot even hold a candle to some of the better quality gear players can get right around the corner. Instead, sell every excess white/green weapon for Mon, or if players are short on mats: scrap them at the Forge to upgrade other items.
1White, Green, And Blue Armor
A Waste Of Space, Epic Or Legendary Could Still Be Useful Though
Spare Armor pieces can accumulate at an absurdly high rate until the mid/late game; even Blue Quality Gear and Hoods (or Armor/Helmets) shouldn’t be kept around for too long. If players need to raise their stats in the middle of a mission and don’t want to return to base, and these pieces of gear offer a small stat boost, they go ahead and use them.
But later, they become obsolete sinceLegendary gear is the meta for Naoeand Yasuke, and these can be found by exploring or completing Kofuns or Castles. The best thing to do with spare gear is to sell it for Mon since players need 10 k Mon to purchase a single Gold piece from Itinerant Merchants, and they will need lots of it in the Late Game to maximize their Legendary Gear. So, don’t hoard old armor; sell it instead.
