ArecentMarvel Rivalspatchreleased on March 13 sought to fix a bug influencing Peni Parker’s Arachno-Mines, but ended up unintentionally nerfing the popular Vanguard. Before the patch, Peni Parker’s mines would turn invisible after touching her Cyber-Webs, even if they landed outside the web itself. While her mines are supposed to be invisible within her webs, having them disappear outside the intended zone caused a lot of issues for players who moved into range without any indication that they might be in danger. While the patch claimed that NetEase Games had found a solution to the issue, it actually introduced more bugs.
In a recent announcement on the official Discord channel forMarvel Rivals, NetEase Games stated that it had heard the feedback from the community and is working on implementing a solution. The developers acknowledged that Peni Parker’s Arachno-Mines aren’t working as intended, as they are able to be both seen and attacked within the webs when they should be invisible and invulnerable. This issue has allowed opponents to simply spam their melee attack when entering Peni’s Cyber-Webs to destroy any nearby mines, which severely impacted the lethal nature of her ability kit. Peni Parker is one ofMarvel Rivals' most unique Vanguards, and her mines allow her to combat dive tanks in a way that forces melee-focused characters to avoid her Cyber-Webs.

Shortly after the patch was implemented,Marvel Rivalsfans expressed frustrationwith the changes, with some claiming that Peni had practically become unplayable in the higher ranks of the hero shooter’s Competitive mode. Fortunately, NetEase Games claims that the developers have “pinpointed the issue and are actively working on a fix.” While there’s currently no timeline for when players can expect to see the issue corrected, the developers have said they will make another announcement when they have more news.
Peni Parker players have also been eagerly awaiting anew skin for the hero inMarvel Rivals, as it was announced that NetEase Games had commissioned Peachmomoko60 to design a new costume for the Vanguard. Leakers also revealed gameplay footage of a new skin for Spider-Man designed by the same artist. Some fans believe the recent leaks mean that the skins could be making their debut soon, though there’s no way of knowing for sure. Despite a few hiccups, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future ofMarvel Rivals.
