How To Change Position In RTTS (MLB The Show 25)

Eachnew ballplayer inMLB The Show 25must be a pitcher, position player, or two-way player. While you can’t just edit your ballplayer within RTTS and quickly switch them to a different position, there are key conversations that will give you an opening to change position.

The first is actually immediately after getting drafted. If you’re using a two-way player, the press will ask whether you intend to stick to that in the MLB. If you choose the “I’ll need to evaluate that” response, it will lead toa post-game conversation in late Aprilafter playing a handful of games. Your manager will give you the option of switching to being a pure pitcher orposition player, but you won’t get to change the specific position you’re in at that time.

You will primarilychange position inMLB The Show 25by telling your agent that you aren’t happy with things in your current position. Once you bring that up during a phone call, it will eventually lead to a conversation with your manager about changing position. The catch is that you can’t call your agent, you have to wait for them to call you.

Unfortunately, exactly when your agent will reach out can be pretty unpredictable. It does seem like simulating games will slow down this possibility. That’s likely because your actual in-game play is a factor. You can simulate an entire season without your agent ever reaching out or your manager ever giving you a chance to discuss this.

If you don’t want to lose your progress, try playing a handful of RTTS games to see if the agent call triggers before or after one of them. The later you get into a save, the less likely a change of position becomes.

If you reassure them everything is fine once or twice in early conversations, the dialogue options to change position may disappear altogether from future agent conversations.

If you’re not enjoying your current position and don’t want to wait things out with the uncertainty of whether your agent will even call, it’s probably time to justcreate a new ballplayer and start Road to the Show from the beginning. This is especially true if you’ve spent a significant amount of attribute upgrade tokens that won’t help the position you hope to switch to.
