Summary

Monster Hunter Wildshas been making a name for itself in one way or another since its release in February, despite a bit of pushback on its difficulty. With a rewarding open world to explore, plenty of monsters to hunt, and some of the best visuals ever seen in aMonster Huntergame,Monster Hunter Wildsoffers an unprecedented experience for the series. While it does have a lot going for it, though, it may want to follow in the footsteps of ConcernedApe’s famr life simStardew Valleyin one key area.

It may seem interesting to suggest thatMonster Hunter Wilds, a somewhat hardcore monster-hunting game, should follow in the footsteps of a cozy farm life sim likeStardew Valley. However,Monster Hunter Wildshas some cozy elements of its own that could benefit from a bold leap thatStardew Valleytook in May 2024, when it released an official cookbook based on many of its in-game dishes. Considering how delicious the food inMonster Hunter Wildslooks, it might consider doing something similar.

Monster Hunter Wilds Needs Its Own Cookbook

Stardew Valley Has a Cookbook Based on In-Game Dishes

In an effort to bring the charm ofStardew Valleyto the dining table, the beloved farm life sim has its own official cookbook for fans to utilize in the kitchen at home. The cookbook features recipes for many of thedishes players can cook inStardew Valley, from simple snacks like Survival Burgers to more elaborate meals such as Pumpkin Soup and Crab Cakes. Each recipe is designed to reflect the cozy feel of the game, making it perfect for fans who want to experience Pelican Town’s culinary treats in their own kitchens.

Monster Hunter Wilds' Food Looks Good Enough to Eat

Capcom’sMonster Hunterseries has always had delicious-looking food, butMonster Hunter Wildshas taken that tradition to an entirely different level with some of the tastiest-looking dishes ever seen in the franchise. InMonster Hunter Wilds, meals play a major role in combat by granting players major buffs that can help them succeed where they might have failed otherwise. Players cancook meals inMonster Hunter Wildsusing a variety of ingredients, or they might wander into a village where the locals offer them a meal, upon which they bear witness to a mouth-watering cutscene where the food looks real enough that even the most uncultured palate is likely to find it appetizing.

Needless to say,Monster Hunter Wildsneeds its own cookbook, just likeStardew Valleyhas its own. TheMonster Hunterseries already has an official cookbook called the “Monster Hunter Food Cookbook (MonHun Meshi Recipe Book),” with 29 recipes inspired by the series — including classics like the Well-Done Steak andChef’s Choice Platter. However, it’s important to note that this cookbook is currently available only in Japanese, and there hasn’t been an official English translation released.

There have been fan-madeMonster Hunterfood projects like the Monster Muncher Cookbook, which is inspired byMonster Hunter: World, but nothing official has been made for English-speaking fans.

Even if it isn’t a cookbook based on the food that has been featured throughout theMonster Hunterseries,Monster Hunter Wilds, at the very least, needs to receive its own cookbook. Almost every dish in the game looks like it could be eaten right off the screen, and ifStardew Valleycan justify it with the pixelated-but-charming images of its own recipes, surelyMonster Hunter Wildscan justify its own as well. Whether it’s the cheesy naan-like dish of Kunafa Village or the bowl of warm veggie soup fromSuja Village,Monster Hunter Wildshas plenty of dishes that would be fantastic to eat in real life.
