The news isn’t too surprising considering howpopular theMonster Hunterfranchise has becomewith recent, more mainstream-heavy, entries in the series.Monster Hunter Wildscontinues the evolution of the franchise, building on parts of the previous games to attempt something even more ambitious with a living and interconnected world for players to explore. In fact, the massive map and each of its biomes has been a focus for one player who wanted to see if it was possible to run through the entire thing in one go.
That player, known as -BrotherPig- on the game’s subReddit posted his findings in a lengthy gameplay video showcasing if it was possible to run through the entire Forbidden Lands map in one go. Starting inMonster Hunter Wilds' first area, the Windward Plains, they continued through each diverse biome on the back of their Seikret, through the Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, through to the Iceshard Cliffs and beyond. Surprisingly, the entire journey took over 9 minutes to do, showcasing how interconnected the map actually is.
Monster Hunter Wilds Map Is Largely Seamless
However, one of the biggest discoveries from riding a Seikret through the entire map is just how seamless and connected the full map actually is. During the biome run, there was only 1 loading screen that popped up about halfway through the journey when entering Iceshard Cliffs. It’s an impressive feat for Capcom considering howmassive and detailed theMonster Hunter Wildsmapis.
WhileMonster Hunter Wildsis a big game in and of itself, its launch isn’t the end of the road. Following the example set by previous games,Monster Hunter Wildshas plenty of post-launch content coming, through larger updates, smaller liver-service-style events, and a likely larger expansion sometime down the road ifWorldsandRiseare anything to go by. Based on the early sales figures, Capcom certainly has a large audience to continue feeding more content to.
