In Season 7 ofMy Hero Academia, All Might plays a pivotal role in devising the plan againstAll For Oneand Shigaraki Tomura. However, as the season came to an end, All Might also had to face a battle of his own, one that had been long since coming, as All Might and All For One battle once more. Though this has not been the first time All Might and All For One have exchanged blows, this is the first time All Might has fought All For One without a Quirk.
As the season nears its end, All Might equips a mechanical suit and becomes Armored All Might. The suit is a support item specifically engineered for the battle with All For One. Each function of this suit is also named after the students in Class A atU.A. High School, as they inspired the specific function.

All Might had been one of the last defenses against All For One as he made haste towardsShigaraki. Previously, All For One had been severely damaged, thanks to the efforts of Tokoyami Fumikage and Mount Lady, who continuously wounded him and thus sped up All For One’s age regression. While All For One had regressed younger than his prime form and was now unable to fully tame his impulsivity, thanks to the other self within him, Shigaraki’s darkness.
Although All Might was able to land a few solid hits against All For One, ultimately, the Armored All Might was no match for him, even though he has regressed a considerable amount since the fight started. As the battle continues to rage, All Might’s vestige begins to manifest within One For All, indicating that as the battle with All For One continues,All Might may soon face death.
All Might’s Role in Season 8
The End Of An Era and The Start of the New Generation
All Might’s role in the series has always been to be a Symbol of Peace. BeforeAll Might became the Number 1 Pro Hero, as Toshinori Yagi, All Might knew there needed to be a significant change in society, as grief would turn into hatred and thus bred an endless cycle of vengeance and fighting. Even though All Might had been Quirkless at the time, he knew society needed a symbol and hero they could rely on, one that would bring peace and break the endless cycle of fear.
All Might’s role in Season 8 symbolizes theend of an era. All Might has been a Pro Hero for several decades at this point in the series, working tirelessly to combat crime regardless of the type of emergency civilians may be in. As a result of All Might’s hard work and dedication, his retirement came as a shock since there had yet to be someone to fill the void that is All Might.
In the fight against All For One, All Might sustains significant injuries and uses adrenaline to mask his pain, highlighting the intensity of the confrontation and the strain on his Armored Suit. Unexpectedly, he will receive help from an unlikely ally who will aid in delaying the battle with All For One. Stain has always admired All Might and considers him a genuine hero, as All Might has never acted corruptly or pursued heroism solely for financial gain.
Although Stain had become the Hero Killer and thuscurated his own ideologyof removing corrupt heroes from society, he still admired All Might and thus sought to assist him in the battle against All For One, as he was a much larger stain on society and would cause indescribable destruction if left unchecked.Unfortunately, Stains’s end came quickly, leaving All Might shocked at the scene and barely able to move after taking a shielded attack from All For One.
No matter how it goes down, his death… marks the end of an era.
However, All Might had never been one to give up. He refused to submit to All For One, even though he lay battered and bruised for the entire world to see. All Might has always been the hero who saves others; however, he has yet to be the one who needs rescue. Just as All For One was on the verge of All Might’s public execution,Bakugo Katsuki,having recovered from his heart repair thanks to Edgeshot, saved All Might at the last minute.
As the Final War came to a close, All Might withdrew from the combat, his body worn and battered from the clash with All For One. Following the end of the war, he is shown in a wheelchair and wearing a neck brace, highlighting the toll the battle took on him over the years. Eight years later, using the data gathered fromAll Might’s Armored Suit, Melissa Shield and Hatsume developed a mechanical suit for Izuku Midoriya, with the Class A alumni providing funding, led by Bakugo at the forefront of the project.
To further emphasize All Might’s significance to the series, he once again provides Midoriya with the means to become a hero, rounding off the series by supporting a Quirkless Midoriya Izuku with a support item to assist him in future battles. Although it may not be a Quirk like One For All, with Midoriya’s innate knowledge ofQuirks and experiencewith multiple Quirks, this technology will allow Midoriya to be a hero again. All Might’s role in Season 8 is of great significance. Not only did he believe in Midoriya’s dream of becoming a hero, thus passing on the torch to the next generation of heroes, but it was also All Might who physically gifted Midoriya with the suit, encapsulating his role as mentor and supporter.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the “One-For-All” quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
