Drew’s adoptive parents knew that their boy was a Werelord, but they had to hide the truth to keep him safe. However, everything changes when Drew startstransforming into a Warewolfon a full moon night.
On the same night, Drew gets attacked by a mysterious Werelord, and while attempting to save her son, Tilly Ferran dies at the hands of the monster. However, before the Werelord could kill Drew, the boy transformed into a wolf, forcing the enemy to flee. Since they were alone at the time, Drew’s father and brother thought that he had killed Tilly. In an instant, the entire village started seeing Drew as a monster. The boy was left with no choice but to venture into the dangerous world and find Duke Bergan, who, as per Tilly, could answer every question for Drew.
Drew Ferran Is The Last Descendant Of The Werewolves In Wolf King
The LastWolf King, King Wergar, Was Drew’s Real Father
Before dying,Tilly informed Drew to head to Brackenholme and meet Duke Bergan, the legendary Werebear of the bear kingdom. After fighting some deadly enemies and coming across allies like Lady Whitley (Duke Bergan’s daughter), Drew learns that he is thelast descendant of the Werewolves. Apparently, each realm in the world ofWolf King, Lyssia, is ruled by a Werelord. This includes the realm of Sharks, Bears, Stags, Boars, and Rats.
For several centuries, all theWerelords pledged their allegiance to the Wolves, who were noble enough to keep the Werelords together while maintaining peace throughout the realms. However, everything changes when theLions challenge the Wolves and destroy their realm. The Lord of the Lions, Leopold, killed King Wergar of the Werewolves and laid waste to the entire Kingdom. Unlike Wergar, Leopold is aruthless tyrantwho has kept the Seven Kingdoms under his thumb ever since. Every realm had to bend its knees to Lions in order to survive, but almost everyone wished for the Wolves to return and take control of Lyssia.
Whatever happens, just remember you were always my boy - Tilly to Drew.
Theexistence of a Wolf could threaten the rule of the Lions, and King Leopold never realized that the son of Wergar was alive and well. However, Vanmorten, the loyal servant of King Leopold, came to know of Drew’s existence. So, the Wererat took matters into his own hands and attacked Drew and his mother in their village. While Wererats pledged their allegiance to Lions for their selfish motives, other Werelords, like Bears and Stags, were waiting for a wolf’s return. That is whyDuke Bergan and his children did everything in their power to keep Drew safe, even though it meant going against the Lions.
Drew’s return has started a war in Lyssia, and the shift in loyalty has indeed pushed the Lions back a little. That being said,no one dares to underestimate the mightof Werelions. The Lions are fierce and strong, and King Leopold would do everything he could to maintain his rule over Lyssia. That is why heorders the execution of Drewon the day of his son Lucas' wedding. Fortunately, Drew’s father arrives on the scene to save his son, and the combined efforts of Bears and Stags help the rightful heir of Lyssia escape the scene.
The Young Werewolf Is Not Yet Ready To Fight King Leopold
He Must Train To Get Stronger
Even though Drew learned about his real identity, henever really accepted the fact that he was a Werewolf. The boy saw himself as a monster, and that is why he could never control the beast inside of him. Drew also felt guilty and thought himself to be responsible for his adoptive mother’s death. Drew never wanted to be a Werewolf; instead, he wanted to live a simple life in the village with his family and maybe someday marry Erin. However, fate has something else in store for the boy, and he has to accept his new destiny to fulfill it.
In Lyssia, every young Werelord has a mentor who teaches them to control the beast, or else they could lose themselves to the transformation and not return to their human self. Drew never had that sort of mentor, and for a bit, the boy thought that the Wereshark Vega could become his teacher. But sadly, Vega betrayed the boy and handed him over to the Lions. Of course, the Shark changed sides in the final moments and helped Drew escape the clutches of the Lions, but he lost all rights to be the Werewolf’s mentor.
Each realm had its own Werelord. Sharks…and Stags. Rats and Bears, like Duke Bergan. And all the Werelords pledged allegiance to the noble Wolves until the Lions came and destroyed them. The Wolves held Lyssia together for centuries. Now the Lions have all Seven Realms by the throat.
Fortunately, Hector, the rightful heir of the Boar realm, never left Drew’s side. He was able to teach Drew a thing or two about controlling the monster. That’s when the Werewolf realizes that his mentor was walking beside him all this time and doesn’t have to look elsewhere. Duke Bergan, Vega, and the Lord of Stags are also with Drew, and they decide to help the boy become stronger by training him. WhileKing Leopold is trapped inside his castle and gathering more allies, Drew is on Vega’s ship with his friends.
Trent Ferran Wants To Kill His Brother To Avenge His Mother’s Death
He Reaches The Realm Of Bast To Gather Allies For Leopold
Drew’s father (Mack) and brother (Trent) thought that it was Drew who killed Tilly. So, after Drew escaped the village, the father-son duo joined King Leopold’s army, hoping that someday Lions would capture Drew. When Drew was in Leopold’s captivity,Mack and Trent confronted the boy for killing Tilly.
While Mack realizes that Drew is innocent, Trent fails to see the truth because of his anger. Mack tries to make things right by saving Drew from the execution, butTrent doesn’t let go of his hatred for his brother. To make things worse, Mack dies while protecting Drew, which sparks even more anger inside Trent’s heart. In the end,Trent loses both of his parentsin the blink of an eye, and it was all because they tried to save Drew.
Trent chooses Leopold’s side, and in the final sequence ofWolf KingSeason 1, we see himventuring into the Realm of Bast. Leopold’s army is weaker after Boars and Stags rebelled against the Lions, so he must gather more allies to maintain his control over Lyssia.
As expected, the Usurper King asks Trent to act as his messenger for the Lord of Bast. Trent will possibly ask the Werelord of Bast to gather his army and fight on Leopold’s behalf. With Drew training to become stronger and Leopold expanding his army with new allies, things will surely get more brutal in Season 2 ofWolf King.
