The Last of Us: Special Edition Leaked

There have been an abundance ofThe Last of Usremasters, remakes, and PC ports over the years, but it doesn’t look like Naughty Dog is done just yet. While fanscontinue to plead forThe Last of Us: Part 3, Naughty Dog is supposedly gearing up to release a Special Edition ofThe Last of Us. According to leaker billbil-kun viaDealabs, the new edition is currently in development and will receive a physical release for the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, the contents of the edition are presently unclear. There’s no word on whether or not this will include bothThe Last of Us: Part 1andPart 2, or if it will be a standalone edition of one of the two titles. However, the leaker did reveal a price point of $109.99 USD, suggesting it will likely include both games.

There’s no release date for the Special Edition, but billbil-kun anticipates the opening of pre-orders “very soon,” with estimates putting an announcement within the next two months. While none of the aforementioned details have been confirmed by Naughty Dog or Sony at the time of writing, HBO is currently gearing up toreleaseThe Last of UsSeason 2, with the first episode of the season set to air on April 13. Given that the second season will be aired in its entirety by the end of May, there’s always the possibility that Sony is intending to capitalize on the show’s popularity by revealing the Special Edition during Season 2.

For fans waiting for a brand new instalment in the series, it could still be quite some time untilThe Last of Us: Part 3is released. The release date for the title has yet to be confirmed.
