A new update for March 2025 has finally added a fan-requested feature and something many users had hoped to see at launch.
The3.0.0 update for Alarmois now live, bringing with it the ability to change the alarm time and mode for each day of the week. Additionally, a preview will now play on the alarm scene selection screen, and the screen’s brightness can be made darker. Users can now check the MAC address of the device, even when it’s not connected to the internet, and the Sleepy Sounds mode has also been adjusted. Now, users can choose to have the Sleepy Sounds play anywhere from one to 60 minutes. As expected, the team at Nintendo also fixed certain issues and took measures to improve stability and usability. While users were initially required to have anactive Switch Online subscription to use Alarmo, this is no longer the case, with Nintendo removing the requirement as of February 2025.
Earlier this month,Alarmo received a new Mario Day update, adding four new alarms fromSuper Mario Bros.along with a special visual theme. At launch, the device included sounds and songs fromSuper Mario Odyssey,Splatoon 3,Pikmin 4,The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, andRing Fit Adventure, with more content being added over time.Mario Kart 8 Deluxewas added in December, with a theme forAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsset to be added in the future.
More information about the highly anticipated Switch 2 will be revealed during a special Nintendo Direct presentation on April 2. Some fans wonder ifAlarmo will be compatible with the Switch 2in some capacity to help its longevity, or if it will potentially feature the ability to scan amiibos.
